The current Surface laptop and surface easily some of the best pieces of hardware in their lanes
Saying Microsoft has 'never been a hardware company' like Windows Phones, Surface Tablets, Surface Laptops, the fukking Zune aren't all literal things that exist(ed) is wild to me.

I use a surface laptop 5 32gb 1tb for my daily driver at work and I couldn’t be more impressed,
Only major downside for me is that metal body gets hot working from my pool.

Probably the one of my favorite parts about the console wars is framing Sony as some mom and pop shop and not this ubiquitous corporation that’s been around since WWII.So I guess Sony is a software company by y'all's logic

y’all are all right when it comes to M$. They started out in the console space to sell units obviously but have made a hard pivot to sell a service so they can be in as many devices and homes as possible because we been moving in a digital direction

Whats Rare up to these days? 
When a corporation like embracer acquires a studio. The bottom line is all that matters. They will consolidate talent for sheer profit.
A platfrom holder isn’t beholden to immediate profit in the same way. Every studio/game doesn’t have to make huge profit to exist.
For example a studio/game like Tango/hi fi rush, can make a mild profit but still be VERY integral to a platform holder, to boast their platform.
Under embracer, a studio like Tango would be swallowed up by their need for profit.
The consolidation is inevitable, but i don’t think all is created equal.

Almost all those products failed or were ended by Microsoft. Saying Microsoft is a hardware company is like saying Google makes products and services you can depend on to be around forever. The irony is Microsoft actually makes good hardware products from time to time but the company just doesn't know how to make them successful.
Microsoft is a software company that dabbles in making hardware to further their software.
