people thinking Big E should win and go to Wrestlemania was odd to me. when they're clearly doing baby steps with E.
last night laid down roots for a win next year though.
This was the year to pull the trigger on Big E winning.
When you look at the participants, you can eliminate at least 20 of them from even being considered to having a chance: Sami Zayn, Mustafa Ali, Nakamura, Ziggler, Carlito, Xavier Woods, John Morrison, Elias, Damien Priest, Kane, Corbin, Dominik Mysterio, Otis, Hurricane, Christian, Cesaro, Miz, Ricochet, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio
Take them away, and here are the remaining 10: Edge, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Big E, Daniel Bryan, Matt Riddle, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman
Of those 10, the only ones that could legitimately make sense and be simple enough to book for writers are Big E, Daniel Bryan, and Bobby Lashley (Edge & Orton don't need a rumble win at this stage in their career, WWE doesn't see Jeff Hardy as a Mania Main Eventer, too soon for Matt Riddle, AJ Styles just faced McIntyre for the title a couple months ago & WWE won't do a heel vs heel Mania title match against Reigns, Rollins won the Rumble two years ago and Strowman has been Big Show'd).
Of those 3, Daniel Bryan and Lashley would probably not be the right choices because of who the champs currently are (Bryan could have won the rumble to add to his HOF career, but he'd more than likely be losing to McIntyre or Reigns to help put them over more. Bobby Lashley wouldn't have been a bad option however he jobbed to McIntyre a few months ago and I don't think WWE views Lashley as the guy to take down Reigns.)
That leaves Big E. He's already over, can hold his own on the mic, hasn't had a Main Event push, would be a fresh match-up for McIntyre and Reigns. Not to mention they already planted seeds for a Reigns/Big E feud 2 months ago on Talking Smack, and it would not only provide a Mania moment but Reigns/Big E could be the headlining feud going into the summer.
