16k. #41. Not good.
:manny:

BTW I called it...this one was on Orchard/Sony lol.

Orchard is just like the indie distribution leg of Sony. I guess their contribution is shipping vinyl.

That weird rule about 2nd week sales being helped by previously released tracks might help it but I don’t know the deal with that either

Wait I thought you said distributing through Sony/Orchard was a GOOD thing

It is. That's why we saw that Rolling Stone article and various other looks that many of the other albums didn't get. But as you said a few days ago, it's about doing multiple things right VS doing one thing right. This album got announced within a week of release, no single, no video. KD2 (which was also on Orchard) had a video, single, etc.

It's like drowning for 10 minutes and getting CPR from the best medical people. Sure you might survive...but probably not. Too much damage done. I wish they'd sit down and map this shyt out. No more surprise drops. I'm not even into the 50 song but imagine how many views a Nas/50 vid would have gotten if it dropped a week ago, and the hype (and streams) it could have built for this.

Well it probably doesn’t help this album had the worst first impression of the whole series and it took some to stick with a couple of listens it to be alright

I agree with you they need to map things better. They’ve actually try to rely on buzz post KD 2 for these albums and that doesn’t work for streaming alone. Again I’m guessing if the previous streams for one mic/one gun get added to the second week it’ll help it but even that I have no proof they’ll add 8 months of streaming just cause the plug said so

Yea I get it. Even a video the night of release and ONE national interview like what he did with KD3 was good enough for 30K

But again I don’t think Nas is going after big sales with the Magic albums. These are appetizers to feed the buzz. The plug chick said one interview was conducted for Magic 2 and one Music video has already been filmed, its just up to Nas to release them. I guess he’s trying to space the (minimal) marketing for Magic 2 out over the course of the summer until KD4 is ready in the winter.

We’ll see. I think Nas knows what the game is and isn’t marketing the Magic albums the way he markets the Kings Disease albums. Every KD album gets at least one video within the first week of release and at least one major interview. Magic gets almost nothing.

He’s got a decent fanbase in Europe. The album was #3 on the UK Spotify Global Chart this week
No idea how much that is streaming wise but I wouldn't sweat it

Bro.. I dont even care about vids no more..lol

I think Ive watched each vid he put out once. Im not in that space with music. I want the albums. I buy the album.

Nas fans should be straight purchasing. Stream parties nshyt? Man we not 15yrs old..

Nas is that dude. Doc the process behind making these albums. Im in for that. Drop the doc same day as the album..bundle that shyt. You then control the narrative of these albums.. promotion.
