Well it probably doesn’t help this album had the worst first impression of the whole series and it took some to stick with a couple of listens it to be alright

I agree with you they need to map things better. They’ve actually try to rely on buzz post KD 2 for these albums and that doesn’t work for streaming alone. Again I’m guessing if the previous streams for one mic/one gun get added to the second week it’ll help it but even that I have no proof they’ll add 8 months of streaming just cause the plug said so

Yea I get it. Even a video the night of release and ONE national interview like what he did with KD3 was good enough for 30K

But again I don’t think Nas is going after big sales with the Magic albums. These are appetizers to feed the buzz. The plug chick said one interview was conducted for Magic 2 and one Music video has already been filmed, its just up to Nas to release them. I guess he’s trying to space the (minimal) marketing for Magic 2 out over the course of the summer until KD4 is ready in the winter.

If Im Nas, Im not giving out no more music... fans aint shyt. I aint saying Im a numbers guy, but his fanbase sucks.

I dont even wanna talk about Magic 2 or no other albums on here... certain part of his fanbase makes me sick.

I mean this is also just US streams who knows how he is elsewhere

Secondly just need to make a better album ppl will stream more

Aside from Hov stans trolling, why yall concerned about it? 100,000,000 streams get you about 67,000 "sales." You not doing numbers in this era without a whole lot of 15-30 year olds running your songs back over and over. Nobody that age checking for a Nas album in 2023 where the only guests are :flabbynsick: 50 and an 8 month old track with 21

15k-20k for a surprise album with no promotion from a 50 year old rapper is not as bad as the Nas haters making it out to be

Dudes in here who don't even listen to these albums yet rail on and on about their sales are just weird

Waste of money

Ice Spice label and team did all that for 19K

That's a deluxe though, adding tracks to her previous project. And it'll prob be on the chart for months based on how her singles are performing.

The Nas dynamic is that because the streaming is low, he usually falls off the chart in week two. I expect Magic 2 to chart again because the One Mic One Gun sales will be added at that point. Maybe it drops out of the top 50 but I'd expect it to be somewhere on the Billboard 200.

This is why I think they need to just say fukk it and drop an album specifically aimed at streaming. which means having features people want. Doesn't have to be a modern album with 10 features, but if you get the right 4-5 you can heavily increase streams in the long term. Like if you have an album with Drake, J Cole, Hov, Summer Walker and Jhene Aiko. Across a 14 track album or something. With a video/single released a week early.

And tie the album to bundles, including merch as well as a tour. At this point why not? Is Nas going to do 100k first week in 2023/2024? Of course not. But he can easily hit 60-70k again with the right tracks, and those tracks will stream for months. One Mic One Gun got nearly 30mil streams in a few months, for instance.

So spend more for an album that you're gonna make back?

Nas needs to stop putting out albums

Nearly 30mil streams = nearly 20k sales. Maybe there's some rule that tracks designated as bonus tracks don't count for as much, or maybe some of those streams are from non-paying Spotify accounts. But if I'm right and the vast majority of streams come from premium accounts, he should match or slightly top this week's sales. And then after that sure it'll fall off the charts completely.

I mean if he’s not gonna promote them properly, give a couple weeks advance, Do a promo run..
Then his fans are not gonna know about it :yeshrug:
