First time I heard Earl was back in '09, when the OF thing was really starting to pop. And I thought he was dope.

He had way more energy and presence on the mic back then. More life in his delivery. Since then, he's been through a lot of sh*t, and it feels like he's still trying to find himself musically. I think he's a dope lyricist, but after awhile, it can be tough as a MF to sit through his songs when he's sounding like he's rapping and taking a nap at the same time. But this is ALC, so I'll always give anything he's producing on a shot.

The fact that we have to now confirm that there are drums on beats is crazy, bro.

:russ:
it most definitely is, but with Earl I feel like a lot of people including me aren't as into it if they know that drums aren't there.

Latter half doesn't have much though.

I really hate the presentation of dropping this album as an NFT before streaming platforms. Kinda think it's a bad look and I think it won't age well. NFTs have been dead and are scammy.

Edit: also this barely sounds like an album IMO. It sounds like some rough sketches for songs that were started but not really finished. Some dope bars and dope instrumentals in some places, but on one listen it just feels like a rough sketch.

Truth.

I also feel like Earl's flow these days and his whole vibe would have him getting ate up by drums. If he can actually stay on beat. It's almost like he's trying to shift more into this spoken word thing. Drums would kill that for him.

You're right about the NFT thing. It's corny. I'm surprised they even tried that this late in the game. No one is f*cking with NFT's anymore. Gladly.

I think this is a collection of cutting room sh*t that's been sitting. Seems like leftovers and old ideas that they just decided to throw out there.

Earl pretty much killed all of the energy for “My Brother,The Wind”

How is the live version sounded like a vibrant and bright track

I guess the snippet version will be kept in rotation so 3 years waiting for nothing :beli:

Lots of performative slander in here. The idea that a grown man would want another grown man to rap and sound like he did as a teen is bizarre and tasteless. Bigging up early OF is like bigging up Garbage Pail Kids; sure, they were cool, but at the end of the day it was drawings of kids doing crude shyt.
