I like Deja Vu but it's arguably the worse track on the album, and doesn't really represent the album like @Funcrusher said. Not the first time that's happened with the single from an Alch project recently.

I got zero doubts and if anything the Marci album makes me more excited. Just like that album, I've had an idea of what an Earl/Alch album would sound like for years but...whatever we get on Friday won't be that. It'll be something wilder, and I'm here for it.
BTW the Muggs album drops at midnight tonight and it's super fire. I figured you were hip to it but it's very dope.

SMH this nikka man, this album is gonna be trash.

Why that beat? What was he even rapping about? This man needs to focus more on actual song writing and get out of this lofi crap he been on, he doesn't do it well.
Earl been like this for YEARS. More misses than hits. nikka just don’t care no more.

Not sure I agree with this. Doris was exactly the type of album people expected/wanted from Earl, it had dope singles and didn't sell much. Could he have gone the trendy producer route, called up T-Minus, got a Kendrick feature etc etc etc? Sure but I'm not sure OF fans would have fukked with that.

Would I have guessed Tyler would be one of the biggest rappers in the world in 2022/2023? No. But he put far more effort into reaching larger audiences than Earl did. I'm not knocking Earl, his discography is almost flawless and he's taken some great risks. He clearly didn't want to be bigger, and still managed to win because as you said his fanbase is big and he still sells. I can't knock a guy whose in the conversation for having some of the best albums over the last decade, with the other guys who have been at the top sonically in my mind (Kendrick, Danny Brown, Vince, Roc Marci, Billy Woods, etc).
This, Earl just been in a different bag since like 2015.

Think Knxwledge and Earl could make something way better:

This is a loop but with a lot more going on musically.

The one criticism I have of Alchemist is the lazy loops but the rapper chooses what he wants to write to so it's more on Earl. Al would give him whatever he asks for.

Them working would be dope but in this case I think it's the beats Earl wants to choice. Earl could choose better Alc beats if he wanted too but he purposefully went with this shyt.

P.S. That track you posted is fire. First time hearing it.

I think it's partially just the direction he decided to go in as an artist and also him trying to break away from the fame he was getting from OF. Seems like he initially wanted to distance himself and go fully underground. Now he's kind of embraced that left field, under the underground lane.

I wish we could get an EarlWolf album with the current Tyler and Earl rapping like he's alive over brighter production. They don't even acknowledge each other. It's weird because there was the overlap of dudes in the crew like Nakel and Sage (Navy Blue) that was still cool with both.
Yeah weird they don't work together anymore or aren't even cool. Maybe they fix that with a convo one day.
