I can see this becoming one of Earl's defining projects. Earl is doing his thing with the wise words and laidback delivery and Alc is a real producer who can match the energy of the artists hes working with - like this is similar to Earls last 3 albums with the soul vapor vibes but probably more accessible to the average listener.

Sidenote I hate 3/4 time signature rap songs, they so rarely work. The track with MIKE is one, and :francis:
Agree on 3/4 time signatures.

This album grew on me today. I fukk with it. My favorite run is My Brother the Wind, 27 Braids, and Mac Deuce.

I think it's partially just the direction he decided to go in as an artist and also him trying to break away from the fame he was getting from OF. Seems like he initially wanted to distance himself and go fully underground. Now he's kind of embraced that left field, under the underground lane.

I wish we could get an EarlWolf album with the current Tyler and Earl rapping like he's alive over brighter production. They don't even acknowledge each other. It's weird because there was the overlap of dudes in the crew like Nakel and Sage (Navy Blue) that was still cool with both.
They had beef?

These are all Earl having a better balance with his delivery and energy.

I'm actually liking Sentry within the album. The 3/4 time doesn't bother me. I like how off kilter it feels.

Overall it's a bit too minimalist for me. I wish there was some more diversity with the tempo so it didn't feel like one long song. The problem i have with it is I don't know when I'll be in the mood to listen to it. I'll have to spin this when I'm stoned.

I want to hear Earl with Madlib, Flylo, or Knxwledge. I love Al but he likes making these sparse beats and it's time for Earl to try something different.

Not beef they just grew apart. Earl seemed to have gotten more serious and Tyler still had that ADHD, trolling energy. Tyler's a lot more mature now so maybe he gets Earl on a song on his next album. Earl likes having a low profile so who knows.

I was reading thru these comments like damn Earl and Alc let us down? :francis:

Played this all day yesterday and was pleasantly surprised :blessed:

My least fav track is Sentry and even that is growing on me a little bit

27 Braids, Geb and Max Deuce are :wow:

Earl is definitely in a different space but that's a different conversation. I really like 27 braids, Mac deuce, geb, and all the small things grew on me. 25 minutes long doe :russ:

Solid album. The vibe and atmosphere of the album is very calming and contemplative. There are some highs on this album that really hit you in the core. Earl's pen remains potent. The beats are largely sparse and simple, a nice canvas for Earl's words to be center stage. There are a couple misses but overall I fukk with it. And the highs are really high (27 Braids, Geb, Mac Deuce, Dead Zone, Free The Ruler).
