Why is he rapping like this?:why:

Earl had energy and clarity. Now he sounds monotone and drunk. He needs to get back to sounding like this:

Every now and then he'll drop a random song like Danity Kane where he doesn't sound like he just smoked a quarter and went in the booth. Wish he'd do a whole album sober.

Alchemist needed to get him on some actual beats and not these minimalist loops.

I was about to come in here and tell all the hating flabbyheads to GTFO and go listen to The Realness on repeat or something...but this isn't helping at all :francis:

He's on some David Chase type shyt where he goes directly against what he knows people want from him.
I see your point

When they were in OF people thought Earl had more potential, younger and a way better rapper than Tyler

Came back from his mom shipping him to Samoa and struggled to find his way since and settled into becoming a meme with a super small but loyal following. Nothing wrong with that, most these rappers don't have that but he was supposed to be more

Funny thing is Tyler struggled around the same time moving on from OF around when Cherry Bomb dropped but he kept refining what everybody liked about him and left Earl in the dust. Earl's like Drake almost, everybody just wants to hear him just rap straight up but while Drake hums and fake sings about bytches breaking his heart, Earl either mumbles over low fi beats or mumbling over accordions lol

Not sure I agree with this. Doris was exactly the type of album people expected/wanted from Earl, it had dope singles and didn't sell much. Could he have gone the trendy producer route, called up T-Minus, got a Kendrick feature etc etc etc? Sure but I'm not sure OF fans would have fukked with that.

Would I have guessed Tyler would be one of the biggest rappers in the world in 2022/2023? No. But he put far more effort into reaching larger audiences than Earl did. I'm not knocking Earl, his discography is almost flawless and he's taken some great risks. He clearly didn't want to be bigger, and still managed to win because as you said his fanbase is big and he still sells. I can't knock a guy whose in the conversation for having some of the best albums over the last decade, with the other guys who have been at the top sonically in my mind (Kendrick, Danny Brown, Vince, Roc Marci, Billy Woods, etc).

From what im hearing this album gon be full of songs from years ago so im expecting that kinda sound, dont hate it as much as yall but I will admit he been on this vibe for a bit too long now, his last album had him switching it up a bit but overall wasnt too different

And shoutout you for posting Mirror :whew: one of my favorite songs from him if not my favorite

Has nothing to do with his sexuality. nikkas was acting like he was some creative God and the second coming of Marvin Gaye when D’Angelo and Maxwell blow him out the water as both singers and writers.
We'll agree to disagree. I'm not saying D'Angelo and Maxwell aren't better singers or Writers though that is debatable because what the hell is D'angelo even singing, sometimes he don't always write English.

I will say that before The Weekend and Frank Ocean mainstream Rnb was dying. It just wasn't the same and all the singers wanted to be rappers lol.

Seems to me homie just don't want to be big or no one to like his music. It's almost like self sabotage or something cause he could make better music if he wanted to. He is comfortable in this space so he stays in it. One album of this and it's cool but to keep doing this shyt is just whack to me.

The nikka could drop this and I would be cool with it

Wtf! Why waste your talent? I don't get it.

shyt sounds beautiful to me.
Man that's one of the worse Alc beats I heard this year. He literally looped the same shyt over and over with very little variation. If it's a smooth loop then that's cool but this shyt here is grating and abrasive to the ears.

I think it's partially just the direction he decided to go in as an artist and also him trying to break away from the fame he was getting from OF. Seems like he initially wanted to distance himself and go fully underground. Now he's kind of embraced that left field, under the underground lane.

I wish we could get an EarlWolf album with the current Tyler and Earl rapping like he's alive over brighter production. They don't even acknowledge each other. It's weird because there was the overlap of dudes in the crew like Nakel and Sage (Navy Blue) that was still cool with both.

Think Knxwledge and Earl could make something way better:

This is a loop but with a lot more going on musically.

The one criticism I have of Alchemist is the lazy loops but the rapper chooses what he wants to write to so it's more on Earl. Al would give him whatever he asks for.
