I was nine years old when I saw one for the first time and I'm 32.

This was in Pennsylvania, I went to to go the bathroom attached to this local grocery store and there they were, signs and everything.
I'm really not surprised you saw that in Pennsylvania.

I'm Pittsburgh born and raised, I know Pennsylvania very well. To this day, I've NEVER seen a Northern city in America where confederate flags were displayed freely. I lived 26 years of my life seeing that shyt almost every day. To the point I just got so disgusted by the racism of Pennsylvania I just decided to move away and swore to never move back again.

And it wasn't til I moved away over a decade ago when I noticed no other Northern city did that. Definitely not in the east.

My family still don't get that Black people are leaving Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania not just cause its old and run down, or because of an increase in the cost of living...it's just incredibly racist and behind the times compared to the rest of the country.

Back in in Jim Crow times light skinned Black Americans could put on Turbans and receive different treatment

This dude "Korla Pandit" was one of the first Black people with his own TV show because he pretended that he was Indian

Langston Hughes also passed as mexican when he went to texas

The immigrants don’t hire anyone but their family members. They pay them minimum wage or under the table, and they collect food stamps, use the money to buy food for the store, and mark it up.

But the reason white people get the most heat is because they are the majority, it’s more obvious, and they make laws and policies. And they’re racist to those other groups too. Black people are just speak up more often, and louder.

They aren't really opening businesses in white neighborhoods and communities like that. every time they open up a new business, it's almost always in a black neighborhood. Why? Prices are cheaper and they get tax incetives, write offs, loans, stipends, and other tangibles Black Americans who have been here for generations don't have access to.

So when they do open businesses, and only hire their own...they take the money they make from the black community outside of it.

And those groups have not faced the push back economically, politically, or legally the way black people have. Some of them have even participated in that push back. Keep it a buck.

Hopefully Jason Black can share this information with a larger audience. They won't teach this type of thing in school.

And another thing (I refrained from posting this on Twitter cause I was not trying to get dragged by them on pride month)...this is what happens when others co-opt the Black struggle.

what the fukk is this bullshyt?
:mjtf:

Two spirits?
fukk this bullshyt....
:camby:

Just another way for anti-black white people and non-blacks to white wash the history of the black struggle and the civil rights movement.

Black people did all that fighting for yall...fukk outta here with this "POC were there too" "Jews were fighting alongside Black people for civil rights" when there's more historical evidence to support the contrary...no yall weren't there taking ass whoopings by whitey...you were pretending to be white until the smoke cleared then yall reaped off the benefits of their hard work.

I don't think we should automatically be adversarial towards other minority groups.

Hispanics and Asians support reparations for ADOS more than cacs by a decent margin

Having said that we have to go into our interactions with these groups knowing the truth about history and know what agendas might try to get pushed off of the back of our ancestors.

Are people in the hood trying to open businesses, and getting denied? We haven’t been as entrepreneurial as we should have been. Don’t forget we ran off to shop in the white part of town, and eat in the white restaurants as soon as it was allowed. We abandoned our businesses.

That isn't true. Decline of enforcement of anti-monopoly laws in the late-70's spelled the doom of Black-owned businesses, not desegregation.

Music might be the one area black people generally only buy black products. We dont buy rock albums and Taylor Swift concerts are all white women. Local rappers you've never heard of making good money etc.
