that dedicationI had locs since I was 6 in '98. I got them because my mom had long locs and I wanted some too instead of going to the salon to get braids.
I had them until right before senior year started.

Only if you want to skip the awkward stage but don't tell other dreadheads you got extensions cause you'll be seen as a fake/poser/cheater/etc.im thinking about getting extensions brehs , what u think![]()
shampoo ya shyt before the interview so they look fresh and not pointing up in all kinds of wild directionsHow have job interviews been for y'all with dreads?
I started growing my dreads right when I got hired and they are in that wild stage right now.
I like how it looks and get compliments but I want to get a new job and I ain't tryna cut them out.

Ideally I would get free form as well. But I'm living in this corporate BS so locs alone are a testament to my feelings.Thread only worth a dollar without pics.
Freeform Locs. The true locs IMO

I literally get my dreads tailored at salon every 3-4 months. 70 dollars. That seems like less than haircuts to me.Why'd you have to cut em if you don't mind me asking. Yeah I hated that in between stage and how often I had to have somebody work on them. A few hours every week or they'd look bad. Yeah I think I might be. Locks end up taking a lot of time and money and care. End up being like a pet of sorts. That sounds weird but you do end up caring about them a deal.
I've had mine for about 4.5 years
I decided to grow mine because I got tired of the of the "clean cut/clean shaven safe negro" stereotype. The way I see it I am actively banging on the notion that a black man with long dreads and a big beard can't manage a company, conduct a business meeting, etc, like a clean cut/clean shaven black man.
Then what? There's a tool to cut them so the don't have flat ends right?Almost to my waist. I can pull em that far. Think that's as long as imma let 'em grow.
But if you go the interlocking route you loose a lil bit of length each time you get it done.
Yeah the front is more free form. The front of head literally has like 3 orIt looks cool tho, but it's not looking real free form, maybe because you twisted it before. I plan twist mine too its been 1.5 years, can i still do it?
