10 years next year for me. They were down my back... ended up two strand to make them look fuller, it’s not a little past the half of my back. Don’t plan on cutting them.

Genuinely, please help me to understand :hubie:.

Lets use Jay as an example.

1) is there a specific name for his locs?
2) how long does it take to get that lengt?
3) will I need to get someone to loc my hair?
4) how far along in your journey did you get the awkward stage & how long does it last?

1) his locs are free-form locs, I believe…:whoa:

2) I have seen a recent picture of him in awhile, but going from my own experience I had to wait to about 1 year and half to get to a good length with my hair, to start doing specific styles.

3) You can possibly do it yourself, there are tons of videos showing people locing heir own hair. My wife handles mine since the beginning.

4) The awkward stage last for minute, I guess it depends on what length your hair is at the start. Mines was at a nudred high top fade length so until my locs got some weight to them it was hard trying to get them to a certain look or style.
