Hypodescent means: one black parent = black.
The African American experience is also cultural.
Drake is not culturally Afram. He grew up in a "multiethnic hate free zone" according to himself...and the "mixed" category started existing when white women started having black babies.
When it was just white men/black women, the resulting children were black.
Hyperdescent doesn't exist here.

Drake is a mixed dude that identifies as black its that simple. He could have grown up in the irish springs with no other blacks but his dad. He'd still be mixed and if he identified as black well it is what it is. That's what the majority of people are going to see him as anyway.
