No Black face in the film but him and his mans Mazin are kinda highlighting the struggle and competitive nature of being a black actor due to scarce roles.
Monkey suits are another type of bad suit. His son parades him around in a monkey suit...like one would do a child, prom date, or mascot.
Steve Harvey suits are worn by predator/loser old heads.
Are you young? Suburban? "New Black"?
29 born in queensbrigde, raised in southside Jamaica, my highschool years living in astoria projects, spent majority of my adult life in far rock... I just have no idea what a monkey suit is... not sure why where im from would have anything to do with it...
thankyou for explaining the entendre though. I get it now
You didn't need to tell me all that. Now you know.
"Monkey suit" is common informal terminology.
Nobody asked me but I would think an apology (even a brief one) would make more sense than an explanation that doesn’t add up.
everybody has cousins or a cousin that was moving in the streets especially if you have black people in your family, what’s your point with this angle?Nah yo gotti already confirmed drake cousins from Memphis was his partners in the street go back and listen to some old yo gotti interviews
("Bambozzled" and "Hollywood Shuffle" are two films that deal with racism and white supremacy in the Film and Television industry)
I see people mentioning these two films to defend Drake but that's a False Equivalency. Spike Lee and Robert Towsend were both in the Middle of an On-Going Battle Black Americans had with Hollywood, racism and White Supremacy in the Entertainment Industry. They did these films to bring awareness to what Black People have gone through with stereotypes and issues in America on television and film. They are both Black American and have a cultural connection to what they are talking about. Drake does not have that cultural connection. Jim Crow and Black Face are specific to the Black American Experience. I have no issue with my Black Brothers and Sisters from other countries and yes I know you all deal with racism in different forms. I do have a problem when you use American Black History and you haven't done your research or you act like you understand it better than Black Americans who actually lived it.
American Racism is it's own form of Racism, it's unique. Dealing with Racism in other countries doesn't mean your equipt to understand the dynamics of American Racism. Drake does not speak on Race issues and even did interviews talking about not experience racism until he came to America. His statement didn't apologize for the Photo, he double down so it felt more like spin and damage control saying it's "Art". No, what Robert and Spike did was Art. I don't know what the hell Drake was doing. Also some of ya'll loved using that "Twitter Fingers" sh!t on Meek. Well now your boy got "IG Diary Story Fingers". Pusha got this dude writing out explanations. SMH. Why did they try to scrub the images off the internet? Why didn't he just release the photo himself years ago and explain himself? He only doing this because he got caught and Pusha aired him out. Oh it's a "Circus" now but not when you was posting invoices? LOL.
Went from wanting all the smoke to furiously trying to save his brand. :Bookertlol:
The nikka gives the white mom some OreosLol this satire lol
Where the hellbthe wateenelon comevfrim lolll
And why'd Drake even have to mention his name in this? Apparently they're not even cool anymore. Why throw him under the bus when he probably got a regular job or some shyt and you're the famous rapper who's set for life.
“Who is also from Sudan” on some see I wasn’t the only black person involved in this. Spelled that guys whole government out but didn’t mention the photographer (who is white btw)
Public embarrassment? He's embarrassed of his artistic expression rooted in a "just" cause? This is exactly what Pusha exposed about the homie. This is a blow to his character. None of the stuff he's being clowned about is really "diss" worthy. You think having a baby is diss worthy? You think getting a porn/stripper pregnant is the worse thing in the world? You think being an artist with work in your past rooted in a deeper social consciousness is the worst thing in the world? Naw.....BUT, the way Aubrey carried it speaks the loudest. Homie was ashamed of each instance. That's where the embarrassment comes from. And if you're embarrassed by it, it let's me know you thought it was a mistake or you are hiding your true intentions. And that's why this half assed explanation rings hollow because it came on the heels of you trying to scrub the nets and act like it didn't exist. When that didn't work, you went straight for the "black people struggle" heartstring, which in itself is just as wack as the picture. Quit using "us" for your gain, homie.
Went from wanting all the smoke to furiously trying to save his brand. :Bookertlol:
you asked me a question and I answered it... no need for the slick talk at all
where's his explanation on Addonin lol
