Vegeta was stronger than Goku for literally a fukking day during the android saga. And Vegeta training with Whis for 6 months didn't make him stronger than Goku, it made him catch-up to Goku strength. Read in between the lines of what Whis is saying, he says how it's bout time Goku trained with him.. That's because Vegeta is close to his level now. Remember Whis says Beerus "chose" Goku and Vegeta.

2nd of all, Vegeta didnt transform to avoid getting hit. They were talking about the tournament, vegeta got mad at goku being silly and transformed to fight serious. thats when goku did also. Im looking dead at the panel right now. quit making shyt up
