Mystic is an anime term and the anime makes a visual distinction between base and Mystic. However, the manga does note some change in Gohan, as slight as it may be.

in the manga he was called "super" (chou) gohan. Also there are physical differences in his appearance as well. his mystik (super) form has a sharper sleeker face and he has that long defined bang in his hair.

PICCOLO even notes the difference in his physical features (which would mean a transformation)

in the anime it was noted that gohan had to transform into this state (dbz super) see goku vs gohan. Piccolo said gohan had a power greater than ssj (gohan fought goku in ssj in super as well) that he had to transform into.

Dudes are letting the Super anime version of Gohan cloud their judgement of him

Dude was one of the strongest characters at the end of the Buu saga. It’s stated in the latest chapter that he’s even stronger than that now. Why is it so hard to understand that he stalemated Kefla? Especially going off of what the MANGA has shown of Kefla so far. Y’all need to leave the anime versions of these characters out of this.

What confuses a lot of people is that the power scaling is completely different. The manga follows the original DBZ version of Battle of God's and Revival of F. And there's the fact that most people stopped following the manga once the anime storyline passed it up; way back when Goku fought Frost.

Most people also don't seem to understand that there is no such thing as a Mystic form. Its not a transformation. He simply had all his potential unlocked and no longer needs to go Super Saiyan.

The manga follows the original DBZ version of Battle of God's and Revival of F.

Beerus' intro and arrival on Earth in the manga is different from the BoG. But the manga is more consistent with DBZ manga than the DBS anime.
