Dragon Age: The Veilguard (October 31, 2024)

I’m strolling through Treviso and I gotta say, the game is beautiful man

Just finished the game. I understand why critics and fans love it the story is amazing and the ending is some Mass Effect 2 type shyt . A lot of the side quests and boss fights (especially the dragon fights) are formulaic and repetitive sometimes outright frustrating, the loot system sucks, and the areas are way too linear. The companions are the best they've been since Origins imo but the romances (at least Neve's) are very slow burn. Combat was great at first but got very tedious after a while. The dialogue is great but the Rook male voices are awful and hearing it brings down a lot of scenes. I give this about a 8.5/10 it's on par with Inquisition for me

You must have missed a convo, I had options to respond.

I'm like 4 hours in and my only complaints are the cut screen animations. The characters look like puppets.

Played a couple of missions today. The dialogue in the early game doesn't seem as bad as people were making it sound, but it's definitely some shyt. Bellara is getting benched at the earliest of opportunities solely because the words coming out of her mouth sound like they were made specifically to get clipped and posted by some chronically online motherfukker with extremely unhealthy relationships with the things they like.

Haha facts. Chicks is massively annoying and sounds like a damn teenager. I haven't gotten up to dreaded Taash yet, but 10 hours in and I'm loving the game so far.

When you get the Warden block unblockables trait, the game TRANSFORMS.

I am out here Bodying Revenants who spam unblockables. Oh you gonna hit me with an unblockable sweep? Sit yo ass down. Taash, burn that fool. I'll keep him grounded.

Perfect block is easily the most satisfying mechanic in the game.

most people that dont like it are just because of nostalgia. The only thing it totally messed up on lore wise was the open racism the elves get in the world. seems that was completely missed which is kind of important to why Solas is like "uncommitted" in the voting booth lol.

The banter between party members is phenomenal and the characters are extremely charismatic. The people who "hate it" played 8 hours in one session. Think about that for a moment.
