Don’t blame the players for load management, blame NBA teams

Back when basketball was basketball:mjcry:. Just get these weak nikkas some PTO time already. Load management is psuedo science. And there is other "science" that says resting and resting injuries is worst. Nobody can say if either is wrong with certainty. But I know players are still getting injured alot. And I know players back in the day practiced way more, actually stayed in college and went on to have lengthy careers and be durable. So with certainty Im calling b.s and so would players if they really wanted to play these games.

It's not the players, the NBA TV deals & resulting schedule is the problem. Shorten the season and spread the games out and guys will be able to play every game at full strength.

We're going to see the same in the NFL soon with these goofy ass Thursday night and European games over the 18 game season.

This is like saying everybody should work from home because it would increase productivity. Maybe it would but your company is tied up in a lease for the building they’re based out of and it will always boil down to money

The NBA has been playing 82 game seasons for decades. The NBA even changed the travel accommodations this season, having teams play back to back games in the same cities to minimize travel.

The only time "load management" should be used is if a player is coming back from a serious injury. Other than that, let the motherfukkas play.

When people complain about the sitting out of the players do we just mean the national games or is it bad for any game??????

NONE OF THIS would matter if the FANS started speaking with their DOLLARS and stopped coming to games, stopped watching games. Silver is only bold enough to proclaim that this isn't an issue because he knows that fans will come ANYWAY and pay those exorbitant prices, even WHILE they complain.

You can't bytch about things you're COMPLICIT in.

because like I said, fans feel like they're punishing themselves by doing that

and fans don't realize that by asking for shorter seasons, the prices for the remaining games would just be more expensive, so they lose either way.

DAMN. And it was star players playing all 82 games too.

Look at the Blazers up coming games this week. They are playing 5 times with 1 b2b games. The b2b (games 2 & 3 Pels and GSW) are vs direct rivals for the play-in/playoffs spot. Why wouldnt you give your 32 y/o star an extra day/game off to get ready for the upcoming fixtures. Beating Rockets Pels and Dubs in the next 3 is more important to the Blazers than Dame playing/not plying vs the Kings.

People are getting too caught up on 1 single game and totally ignoring the games that come up afterwards.

So why did Dame play at ASG if he needs rest? Look at the graphic above : star players were playing 82 games 20 years ago. I don't see why today's players, supposedly more athletic, with better training and medical supervision, can't. Are they more fragile/injury prone now? Could be.

“ The NBA is doing a HORRIBLE job explaining it to fans and being transparent and it is turning off tons of fans.” is on brand.

Can you imagine the NFL analysts not informing its fans on why things are? Its Chuck, Shaq, and NBA media’s job to inform us of these geeks ruining the game. Im not going to sit here and fake sport pretend like many in here that I knew this all along.

I think its by design to impact the next CBA.
