Donald Glover has been hesitant to make movies. I don’t know if it’s artistic or him figuring he has a lane money wise that pays him more than his movie star peers.

I really wish they would have came up with a different name for this show. Maybe they are being creative, but with it being named Mr and Mrs. Smith, and the general premise being the same, it feels massively uncreative.

In their defense, they did say the agents in this version aren't particularly great at their jobs. There is good comedy in spies being mid (see, Slow Horses).

I think a post on here said that Phoebe Waller Bridges might have dropped out cause Donald Glover wanted to explore interracial tension in the modern world while she just wanted to keep it fun and light. If true I was thinking maybe he still does that here but no reviews seem to mention it so far
