What am I deflecting. We've been analyzing the history and critiquing behaviors.

I just added some information about the history. I think in the context of this thread it's good info.

There are layers to everything that occurs
Your saying all of that to avoid focusing on Dominicans who hate haitians. :snoop:

Sir, we're talking about lynchings of Haitian immigrants by Dominican police in a racial context.

You bringing up the United States doesn't contribute to the original discussion.

Thus, you're deflecting.

I'm not saying that there aren't Dominicans that hate Haitians. If that's the discussion we're going to have it will be short cause we'll agree.

But this thread has taken on a life if it's own because we're not focusing on the act. We've been talking about everything from the history of the countries, to the laws of the countries, to their cultural differences and struggles with colorism.

Don't pretend my comments have no place hear.

Ok, yet you still have a choice to support racists or denounce them.

No amount of history can change that.

Breh, that'd be a pointless ass thread if we all just came in here said racism is bad.

I'm sure there are a few racists and devil's advocates that'll try to argu but for the most part there wouldn't be a discussion

Well your recapping of history has it sounding like your saying justification for their racist actions.

Haitians Accuse Dominican Police of Covering Up Motive for Lynching

By Josh Surtees

February 18, 2015 | 1:30 pm
The family of a Haitian man found lynched in a public square in the Dominican Republic in an apparently racially-motivated killing have accused authorities of trying to cover up the nature of the crime in a bid to dampen growing protests over racism in the country.

Henry 'Tulile' Claude Jean was found hanging from a tree in the city of Santiago on Wednesday with his hands and feet bound. Despite the macabre way in which his body was displayed, authorities were quick to dismiss racism as a possible motive, insisting instead that he had been killed by other Haitians during a theft.

Now his widow, Erzuline Celuma, has claimed in an interview with a Haitian TV stationthat Dominican authorities have buried his body in secret, without informing the family. Celuma, 22, stepmother to Claude's two daughters aged ten and eight, was joined by his sister who revealed that two of her own children had also been strangled in a similar way and that violence and discrimination against Haitians in the larger, wealthier neighboring state has reached alarming levels.

I read this and can't help but to thank God I live where I live. Not only did they cover it up to defend DR's image (fake ass nikkas) but they also BURIED HIM SECRETLY. :jadawtf::jadawtf::jadawtf:

Dominicans are scust status brehs. Their women are cream of the crop, but as a people they are :scust:

Do you consider yourself black or not? Nobodies going to ridicule you if you choose the latter question.

Just using you as an example to show how simple this question is.

But it's a loaded question. I'm thoroughly mixed.

My maternal grandfather is black with a Taino last name.

My maternal grandmother's father was white and her mother mixed.

My paternal grandfather is probably like 85 percent white if that makes sense

My paternal grandmother's parents were both mixed.

My father is like nas complexion and used to rock a fro

My mother is light-skinned even tho her father is dark and so are all her brothers

I'm light skinned and my brother is more towards nas complexion

So what am I? I'm fukking mixed. But who wants to identify as a mutt?

I'm dominican with african/european/Taino ancestry.

:dahell: I don't understand why it's hard to get

I get off reading you squirm and twist things around :takedat:

go on...keep at it :shaq:

I didn't reflect anything...I gave you my answer like an hour ago.

Saying you're "a dark-skinned Dominican" doesn't answer the question pertaining to your race. In that statement, you told us your skin color and your ethnicity (no surprise there!). However, you haven't told us what race you identify with.

So, once again, I'll ask: are you black?

No you didn't. You deflected from it. The only one squirming like a fish out of the water is you.

I clearly stated why I was asking the question and it wasn't even to antagonize your or Dominicans, but actually the opposite. If you stated no I wouldn't have had a problem. I can care less what people refer to themselves as, but that wasn't the point and your small peanut mind couldn't grasp that.

The question was, "Do you consider yourself 'black?' Yes or No?" Why? Because the people of Coli have this belief that all dark skinned Dominicans are denial of their "blackness".

I already told you that "black" as a racial entity is NOT exclusive to skin complexion, but general features also. Just because you're quote on quote dark skin does not mean your BLACK by definition! By that logic these Dravidian Indians are black too.

So can we try this again? Do you have the balls to answer such a simple ass question? Yes or no? Entender amigo?

Again, we're talking mainly about Dominicans and their racism and self-hatred. You bringing up the US deviates from the original discussion. So, you're deflecting and, in the grand scheme of the thread, your comments have no place here.

If you want, you can make your own thread discussing how the US has hurt Haiti's growth.
