Let me add...if you want to really be angry at someone be angry at the US for not acknowledging an independent Haiti because they were black.
That weakened their position and let DR break off.
Then racist America helped DR with arms and munitions to fight Haiti
And its 100% on the record that the reason the US backed DR was because Haiti was black.

My family is Carribean and were I around when the DR and Haiti were at war, I would have set off to help the Haitians. The truth is the DR should have been burned down and its people put to the sword all those years ago. The fertile soil on which the DR rests should go to Haiti and black people therein. If CARICOM had any power, the Carribean would hammer the DR harder than simply expelling them from the organization.

Almost all Africans are brown to dark skin, similar to Haitians. In the Carribean all the earliest slave paintings show brown to dark skin black people.
They don't have a state. To Haiti, these people are dominicans, because they were born in the DR and never Set foot in Haiti. What happens in the DR right now is the same as if the government suddenly decided to raise taxes, apply the new tax rate retroactively from 1929 onwards and then ask you to pay the difference from when you first started working to now plus the difference your grandparents are now owing the state. And if you can't, they throw you in jail for tax eavasion. Would you let the government Cook?I understand the history... But I don't like that ppl make it out to seem like DR rebelled against their oppressors cause they were black.

And I'll add that this isn't unheard if in history. There was also a distinct cultural difference between the two that added to the desire for autonomy.
And it isn't a Black thing. There's a cultural reason why Czechoslovakia is divided.
There's a reason many other middle Eastern countries end up being split into regions.
There's a reason Tibet wants its independence from China
It's cultural not racist.
They have a state, its called Haiti.
In light if the new law they can apply for citizenship through the proper channels.
A country will govern themselves how they see fit.

Yup. Let that government cook too. If the people end up revolting and overthrowing them so be it.
Government is supposed to be the will of the ppl. It's up to the ppl that are there to do what they've got to do.
There's a lot of foul stuff happening all over the world. Its terrible but those that are most effected are the ones that have to be the catalysts for change
