Technically, Bey's a much better singer , but her music radiates "plastic" more than any major artist I've ever seen.Like I said before, "technically"/ "by the book", she's probably a better singer than Teena Marie, but we all know she can't rock a mic like Teena.The proverbial "it"......Bey just don't have "it" to me.She's lucky to dominate such a watered down era.Her marketing/promotion team deserves an Oscar.They're god level over there

Stepped on the right toes

Kissed the right asses

Said what she was told to say

Performed at the events she was told to

Shunned the artists/writers/producers/award shows/radio stations she was told to

Supported the artists/writers/producers/award shows/radio stations she was told to

Wore what she was told to wear, by whatever designer she was told to support

While always smiling, and taking whatever bullshyt they threw her way, unless of course, her image called for a little innocent, controlled rebellion from time to time

Bravo to her for being the best company woman the music recording industry has seen in the last 20 years though

all of this could be said concerning just about every other singer that got to her level of success.

This makes no sense homie. How was Aaliyah manufactured? She graduated from performing arts school with a 4.0 GPA and she spoke very articulate in her interviews and only works with one songwriter per song..

Beyonce dropped out of school after 8th grade and can't even speak a complete sentence without stuttering.. And she works with 10 songwriters per song.

Beyonce was more manufactured if that's the case.

What Destiny's child video was better than are you that somebody in terms of dancing?

I agree. Beyonce is in another level now, but she was NOT the same talented package when Aaliyah was alive. She had to grind and practice.. Aaliyah would have done the same

Although technically intertwined, I treat their singing and performance as 2 different things.IMO, singing wise, Beyonce has nothing on Jill Scott...

But I also understand that the performance is a major part of the performance. Think about Usher and Tyrese back in the day; Tyrese was a way better singer than Usher but Usher was the better performer and we know how that played out. Or Alicia Keys and India.Arie. Still love me some India

Aaliyah needed producers and songwrirers JUST LIKE BEYONCE. Where would Beyonce be without scott storch? Darkchild? Rich harrison? Neyo? In fact, Aaliyah only needed one songwriter, while Beyonce's songs require 10+.


She's more a studio puppet than anyone else. Let's use common sense brehs.
