In some states like NC you have to be separated for a year to get divorced. Sex with anyone during that time violates the separation agreement. If the sex is with someone else, it's adultery. If the sex is with the spouse then the year time period would be restarted.

Break for me = single - meaning I can see other people.

Break for him = we still together - meaning he CAN NOT see other people -- nor have any contact with any either.
