Not a fan of the way they saved Bill. Would have preferred her to have a tragic and final ending since it looks like the new showrunners are going to go with a new Companion as well as a new Doctor. Hope they don't fukk up with the casting of the new Doctor and his Companion because Capaldi and Pearl Mackie are going to be a tough act to follow.

Looking forward to the new Xmas Special with the 2 Doctors though.

I watched it with my Ace....

First Doctor showed up,

She's like "..... WALDER FREY!??? :dwillhuh::whoa::mindblown:"

:heh: First Doctor has been ruined for me forever.

Don't get me wrong. She's a great actress whose work I've enjoyed for years but I was hoping with the Chibnall connection she would have been the companion, not the Doctor.

I wish her all the best and the show is lucky to have her but I might be switching off before the regen.

Don't know anything about this actress. I'll give it a chance but I'm not a big fan of the Time Lords switching sexes. That's a fairly new invention of Moffat's doing (who I'm more than happy to see go).

Well goodbye to my favourite TV show. Great actress but the Doc should always be a man. This is just modern day box ticking, please the whinging b*stards, box ticking.

They've been setting up a female doctor since the 9th tho. I mean, yeah you're right - but Tennant and Matt Smith were also crowdpleasers. We'll see a colored Doctor too.

It was bound to happen, especially after Missy showed up.

There were rumblings about it long before the modern series but it was never really meant to be taken seriously.

The Master becoming Missy was hard enough to accept. I still have my own head-canon that she is in fact just the Rani a bit confused.

diversity is a great thing... but it's gotten to the point i find the men who go on social media and pump stuff like this up as annoying as the morons who complain about it.

Jesus christ, stop trying so damn hard, you cannot possibly be this excited that some random actress got a role on a tv show that was previously a man's role. Express the fact you like the casting, but fukk, lighten up on the hyperbole. We get it...

i think i really do hate social media.

HOLY shyt!!!! :ohhh: You know I had a theory that they made The Master into Missy just so they could test the waters of a lead female time lord and how the public would react it to it... I never thought I see the day that The Doctor would be female :jbhmm: next season gonna be interesting as hell.

I REALLY wish they wouldn't have revealed it until it happened in the christmas special.

You don't have to drum up interest for a new Doctor.... the fans would've shown up just because.

what that said I don't care I'm gonna be watching like I been watching my whole life goddammit!
They start filming for the new season before the special airs breh wouldn't work

Couple of tidbits.

Deborah Watling who played Victoria Waterfield, companion to Throughton's 2nd Doctor, has died aged 69 following a short battle with lung cancer.

Mark Gatiss has revealed he is in the Xmas special. No word on who or what yet though.

"It was a privilege, an honour and a thrill," Gatiss said of his role.

The trio were tight-lipped on the specifics of his character, but the outgoing Doctor added that the character had "a resonant echo in the whole Doctor Who story".

And there will be footage from the Xmas special screened later today at Comic Con but will likely be available online shortly after.

They kept Gatiss involvement well kept until yesterday. I can't believe how good it looks.

And I spotted Polly! Ben must be there too although odd not to show him.
