According to Russel T Davies he's been cast already. He says he knows who it is.
I hope its not that ginger guy that all the gossip mags say is the frontrunner.
t was an uneven season. I enjoyed the beginning of the season much more than the second half and Bill (the new Companion) is great.
Kris Marshall? I can't see it being him really. I think Chibnall will want to go with a big name to relaunch the show. Would be great if he managed to persuade Hugh Grant but I suspect that ship has sailed. Hugh says it's the biggest regret of his career turning down the role.

Yeah Kris Marshall is who is currently in the lead with all the gossip mags.
David Harewood has been mentioned a lot but I don't see them going with a black Doctor.
And Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the most mentioned when it comes to folks thinking there will be a female Doctor but I doubt that will happen either.
I think they will end up going younger to try and woo back the starry-eyed fangirls of David Tennant and Matt Smith who sort of fell away from the show when Capaldi was cast.
I'll buy the season digitally on Amazon at some point. I don't know about anything taking place other than the original Doctor showing up at the end. I'm glad Moffat is leaving, but I'm sad Capaldi will be, too. 2nd best Doctor, IMO (behind Tom Baker), even if the stories weren't always there to hold up their end.

Can't wait.
As long as it isn't a female then I'm ok. I remember when McGann was announced. I was looking forward to it. Eccleston? Absolutely delighted. Tennant & Smith? Noooooo but came to love Tennant and enjoy Smith. Capaldi I watched the live reveal with a fat spliff and leapt off the couch cheering.
Goes to show that you can be proved wrong and it's impossible to judge a Doctor without seeing a single scene of them in action. Likewise with a script.
Looking forward to it. But Wimbledon better not overrun! I wonder if they will just repeat the trailer with 13 appearing everywhere and then show a brief couple of seconds of him followed by 'Introducing ------ as The Doctor'.

I REALLY wish they wouldn't have revealed it until it happened in the christmas special.
