:whew: these slow burn episodes...... That science fukkup germ shyt is absolutely terrifying to me. Prolly a consequence of reading Stephen King's The Stand when I was 11.

things that bothered me about this ep, though

How did the UN get in Bill's apartment?
Sure, Nardole. Walk out into the plague.
If they restored his sight so easily..... does that mean they're still in a simulation!? :mindblown:

All in all, this season's been fukking killer.

edit: one more thing,

The Doctor's talking like he knows his time is almost up.

Like how he acted like he knew Clara's time was almost up.

Edit (again): "THEYRE NOT VAMPIRES. :birdman::ufdup:"

You guys know the actual- ACTUAL history between time lords and vampires?

Supposedly, before The Time Lords had actually discovered time travel but after they discovered interstellar travel, The Great Vampires tore a hole in the fabric of reality and spread through the universe like a plague.

Some of them were big enough to leech the life out of whole planets.

Of course Rassilon swooped in and saved the universe. The war with The Great Vampires lasted 1000+ years. Death toll in the billions. It was so horrible apparently that it's the reason Gallifrey became a bunch of pacifists. No more aggression. No more war. The King of the Great Vampires disappeared into E-Space, where he was killed by 4th Doctor while just waking up.

Rassilon actually programmed a Shoot on Sight initiative into all TARDISes (along with the history of The War), and Gallifreyans are basically taught to hate and kill them when they see them. But GREAT Vampires are extinct. What we're accustomed to are apparently "Lesser" vampires, or not actually vampires at all.

The REAL thing with Vampires is that Rassilon and Omega accidentally punctured a hole in the wall of the reality when they were trying to localize an artificial singularity (black hole) and create the Eye of Harmony.

Vampires spilled out.

The Vampires found their own star system to stay at and left the rest of the universe alone. They kept to themselves. They bred animals for blood to feed off in the same way we breed livestock and other shyt to eat.

Enter Rassilon.

The actual reason the FAR GREATER majority of aliens look humanoid in the Who Universe is because Rassilon was a bigot. He felt Gallifreyans were the pinnacle of evolution, so he created a cosmic virus that mutated every race that was around at the time so they and their descendants would evolve to look more like gallifreyans. Two Arms, Two Legs, etc. etc..... Those races that the virus didn't work on, he had killed.

It didn't fully work on Vampires.

They were still able to change into other things at will, even though it made a roughly humanoid/gallifreyan form their default. Rassilon couldn't take another race being able to do shyt he couldn't, so he systematically hunted them down and wiped them out like Hitler did the jews.

The TARDIS actually knows the truth of all this.

The Doctor doesn't.

"They're not Vampires!"

Behind You
Girl playing Bill acting her ass off.
Bill has been great and I have been enjoying this season up to the this 3-parter with the Monks.
It was all of the things I have hated about Moffat's Doctor Who just derailing what had been an excellent season and a return to old school Who.

Did anyone who missed Class when it aired only on BBC catch the show on BBC America?

I tried to stick with Class, but it just didn't grab me.

I liked the last trilogy, indeed very Moffian but I never really had a problem with him.

After Tennant/Davies the show needed a change and he brought it. It could've easily dropped off a cliff bringing in young Matt Smith and then old Capaldi, but imo he kept it fresh and interesting.

Very interested to see how Chibnall will do, as I loved Broadchurch.

Oh and they need to stop playing with these fakey deaths for Capaldi :mjcry:

Trump ain't impeached yet ima need Capaldi to breathe for a bit longer :mjcry:

On piru :mjcry:
