Do you think Microsoft will eventually drop hardware and go 3rd party?

Already at work on their next console, rumored to be a hybrid like the switch.

That's probably the standard form factor going forward.

I personally find the switch lacking in presence so I'm a bit
:ld: at the idea
It could probably work better for Microsoft because it would have the power the switch doesn’t and have decent to good wifi/internet connectivity. Nintendo doesn’t really care about those things though

There gonna force the industry into cloud gaming
Man, shyt going to get real spooky when these developers start getting spotify/netflix like paychecks for being on these streaming services. Hopefully they can get ahead or they'll be in the same position these writers/actors are.

On one hand y'all say how much gaming and movies aren't a like

On the other hand y'all are like the problems of movies and tv shows are about to happen with gaming

I don't think they'll bow out because getting a 30% cut from purchases on the Microsoft store is too big to give up. However, Microsoft plays a slightly different game because they also have a PC store and eventually a mobile store. I feel Microsoft's cap for consoles sold is much lower than both Sony and Nintendo because it's not a global brand. Microsoft needs to find a way to get console sales outside of North America and UK because if they can't expand, then their cap is around 80million units sold. Unsure how content Microsoft is with that cap because I feel gamepass subs are driven mostly by consoles rather than PC or eventually mobile.

So the (gaming) market is going towards streaming/cloud, and we cannot use other (entertainment) markets that are dominated by streaming/cloud as examples?

So when the (gaming) market was in line with other (entertainment) markets they weren't the same and didn't share the same problems.

But now all of a sudden they will because subs and streaming

The series consoles have now fallen behind the xbox one, it seems like Microsoft is having a hard time selling hardware this gen.

And whats worse is that they don’t expect an increase in revenue or hardware for next quarter with starfield :whoo:

they have no fcking games. what did they expect? :dahell:

All the good games they have, Playstation also has them.

Pretty sure I've said time invested/length between movies and video games are completely different. So you might have got that confused with me saying game/movie streaming are nothing alike.

At the core streaming is streaming, but no, video game/movie and tv markets are not the same.
