But Sony wants to be the console version of that.

If Game Pass as a business model ultimately fails I don't think Microsoft will be sticking around in gaming. They'll probably sell Xbox and their studios off to another company. There are very few companies that could afford that though. You're talking like Google, Apple, Amazon level companies. Of all of those Amazon would seem most likely to take a stab at it. Amazon would be unlikely to play nice with companies like Sony and Nintendo though. I bet they abandon all those deals Microsoft put in place the moment they could.
Before 2018 they had what 5?Everyone just wants them to make good games. If you want them to leave the market you’re doing it wrong but people also don’t want them to keep on swallowing up the industry, theres a vast middle ground inbetween that.
Before they bought Activision they had 23+ studios. If they can’t compete with that PLUS gamepass, then what the fukk are we even talking about?
Sony and Nintendo were putting out hit games last generation with like 12 studios
Before 2018 they had what 5?
Meanwhile Sony was about to purchase insomniac.
Imagine if Sony didn't purchase insomniac in 2019.

It's 2023 and MS has dropped and given you more 1st party exclusives this year than playstation and will continue too.
Last year, what about this year? And they would have still put multiple game of the year contenders last year, now imagine if Microsoft didn’t buy zenimax, an entire publisher.
The thing is no one complained when microsoft bought 9 other studios since 2018. But we’re going to keep playing dumb as usual

The reason MS gave under oath on as a major reason for them buying zenimax was what?
Why would a business turn down a deal that would be lucrative to them?Saying sony was offering zenimax a DEAL for timed exclusivity for a couple of their games doesn’t really mean anything, zenimax also have the right to reject said offer or take one from Microsoft, thats the benefits of an open 3rd party market.
