It will sell well, it could have sold amazingly well if it would have released on all consoles and PC. Maybe even being the biggest FF on release.


Currently Sony Stan's have zero games to look forward to, so a playstation exclusive is gonna get copped by most just to have something to play.

On top of that, people that don't like RPGs will be inclined to pick it up since it can be sold as action game and not just a RPG.


It also releases at a great time, end of June. People gonna be ready for a next generation game experience after seeing all the gaming trailers and news from earlier in the month.

Its either going to do just aight, (around 6-7 million first year) or its gonna do playstation studio game numbers which is around 8-10 mill. It’s also being bundled so it has even less chance to fail.

Sony studio games don’t even do that much.

TLOU2 took two years and hella bundles and discounts to get there.

Square don’t wanna limp to 10mill in 2 years. They aren’t trying to sell a console.

I’m sure the up front money from sony makes it so they can’t lose too much on the game, but we see they’ve been struggling to move units.

It seems they sign the sony deals to remove the risk of outright failing, but they also limit their potential success.

The game getting good reviews and releasing day one on everything would sell like crazy.
