Have you ever made $100k? Don’t cap either.

Why do I have to make $100k to realize it's not a balling income like people make it seem to be?

A base mode 3 series goes for $50k. You can't afford that on a $100k salary. Don't even think about M, AMG, Hellcat, etc.

I'm a high earner. Having a diverse friend group as far as their salaries, I can tell you that there's income levels that afford you a change of lifestyle, but they're not as close together as you think.

$100k/year - you're not ballin but as long as you're not irresponsible, you can have a decently nice place to live (it would vary based on location, i'm just speaking for South Florida), a nice car, eat out here and there and take vacations a few times a year.

To me, the next step isn't until like $500k, where you're able to invest aggressively, live in a nice home, drive pretty much what you want under $100k, take more vacations, eat out at restaurants more often, buy material things irrespective of cost, etc.

The next step beyond that is probably $1M/year as far as seeing a substantial change to your lifestyle.

I'm basically in that middle tier. Live in a nice house on the water, have a boat in my backyard, multiple investment properties, invest the surplus aggressively in the market, drive 2 pretty nice cars, go on vacation monthly, etc. I think I probably save a good amount of money on food, as I enjoy cooking, so I don't spend much on Uber Eats like that. Clothes too, I rock basic ass tees and joggers with sneakers most days I leave the house. It really just depends on what your vices are.

Also, it's not so much about income as it is what someone is able to do with the money they DO make. If you have a family and you're in the tiers above, then obviously it's different than if you're single. But I have friends who make substantially less than others, and yet their net worth is higher because they've invested in the right real estate or stocks, or whatever else they put their money to work in.

im not giving any indication of what I do but my wife and I have a combined income of about 485k....we have a home valued at 1.5 mil, and plenty of savings, and investments...plus we have a rental property with tenants (property is worth roughly 300k+). We're getting some work done on the house that's gonna run me about 16k (estimated), and eventually we plan on buying a summer home somewhere close to nyc...other than that my wife barely spends anything on herself, and I'm a comic and retro game junky...outside of getting my second masters (she has one too), we really don't spend any money

I’m asking if you’ve ever made $100k. Yes or no?

I have a ZR1 that’s more expensive than all those sans the AMG and just back into the $100k club. You most certainly can. But I invest, have zero debt, am cheap and don’t live any differently than I did making half that. Because as you said, it’s not balling out money but I dont live above my means. What I’ve noticed MORE is I’m more comfortable again. I don’t feel the need to check my balances on any purchases. I help family out and don’t need them to repay me. I don’t “feel the hits” of larger expenses. I’m chilling and saving (to invest again)

No. But $100k isn't special like people make it to be. Now if you make that and find a women with $100k, y'all would be a power couple
