Do you have any videogame experiences that are in the top 100 moments of your life?

Videogaming isn't always a solitary hobby. Even from the days of NES, couch co-op and Arcade multi-player gaming can make for some intense social events. Top 25 is pushing it, but top 100 is easy.

Easily #1 for me. My pops used to take me to an arcade in china town.
Called ourselves the road warriors because we sought out the best players in SF2
As time went by we rose up the ranks until one day we was invited to a special tournament they was having. Usually they don't allow other races to participate but since we was regulars and we was the best around, nothing was ever gonna keep us down and so it made sense, they let us play.
We dominating all the way to the finals. We was the best around, and when it was time for the finals matchup?
In the back dressing rooms a bunch of Yakuza memebers bumrushed my pops and he ended up getting shot 3x in the leg with a street sweeper.
That didn't stop him, he still finished the tournament proving he was the best around and that nothing was ever gonna keep him down...

Top 100 moment for me would be playing N64's No Mercy against a friend (among 6 other friends who all were really competitive in No Mercy) in a cage match , and I was able to beat him without him getting a hit on me. Pretty much impossible to go an entire match without being hit lol.

I lived that high for the rest of the year.

Another moment that I have to provide context for , is that whenever we would create our characters ...we would go for moves that just looked painful , but I changed that up by actually using submission moves (which they later copied) and in one match ( againts this same friend ) , he went for a spear which I reversed and got him in a headlock that lasted so long that we thought the game glitched lol. So of course I was making fun of him by how his character kept moaning while being in the headlock.

edit: Also getting Nukes on a consistent basis in MW2 ( Ps3 days ) with a group of online friends. I think my K/D was almost at a 3.00 .

Me and my 3 brothers as grown men playing Castle Crashers on thanksgiving was so dope

and Family street fighter sessions during the holidays, nothing like beating the dogshyt out of neices and nephews... until they get good

-Going to the Arcade for the 1st time (Malibu Grand Prix)

-1st time seeing SF2 on Halloween 91'

-1st time I put a coin in MK1 after seeing the demo and getting scared shytless cuz it was so loud (I ran from the cabinet like a bytch lol)

-Playing Mario 64 for the 1st time and being blown away at the freedom and the ambiance

-Playing Gunstar Heroes and having to fight the Seven Force boss in the tunnel

-Renting Mario Kart, and (not knowing wtf I was doing) playing the 150cc class on the Star Cup, getting hoed out by the CPU and crying like a lil hoe until I got the hang of it (I swore they were cheating)

-Getting so good at Sonic 2, I knew all the shortcuts, secret areas, enemy placement to the point I could damn near skip half the levels by flying through the air via spin dash and disappering at the top of the screen

-Playing Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Smash Bros and all the other party games w/ my fam and friends

-Playing Goldeneye for the 1st time, and seeing the enemies react to hits realistically

Bra, I hated that fukkin reversal. That one and the one where the opponent instantly recovers from a german suplex and attacks you w/ their running move from behind. The craziest move was the Russian Neck Drop. Had to buy that shyt out the Mall

me and my dad playing mike tyson's punch out. started off watching him, then letting my try, then taking turns. We'd usually get to mike but lose to him.


it's one of the reasons I'm into watching boxing to this day. him and I still get together to watch main events (most recently that canelo fight and garcia fight).

I was playing Phantasy Star Universe and one of my ingame friends yelled to the entire room that it was my birthday in about a minute.

On the dot, you had 30+ people in the lobby singing me Happy Birthday, complete strangers.
shyt still brings a tear to my eye , the best birthday I ever had.
