:manny: I like being around folks, and I enjoy my coworkers. Yea, some are white, but I have best friends that are white. That doesn’t really bother me. The commute, while dealing with the heavy traffic in Atlanta, isn’t too bad to me. I also enjoy driving.

Hopefully, you never have to go into an office again. Me, I want to be in the office once or twice a week
To each his own. I have no white friends and I don't want any. :picard: It was so aggravating for them to begging for my attention at work. Came to the point where I've said that ya'll are too corny and I'm not interested in going to lunch with ya'll. I'll stay getting all my errands done on work time and enjoying my evenings and weekends with my girl and friends.

Yeah some people just like going into the office. Everyone's different. I got a buddy that was going stir crazy when he was forced to WFH. We would go back and forth on which situation was worse. :mjlol:

I agree with the first part but disagree with the second.
If more people stayed with family and stacked their cash for a year or two in their 20s then moved out they'd be better off. You got an advantage use it.
I agree with both, but it just depends on the kid. I for one couldn't stay with my parents. They were too old school with rules so I was out at 17. So I get why buddy is saying having his own place with own rules. That shyt is power and it feels really good to not hear any nagging or have any curfew.

But it's a double edge sword because if you stay at home you can put so much money down on a house and have like $300 mortgage or just straight buy a house. You definitely have the benefit financial by staying home. My generation had kids young, so they are not as strict. So it's feasible most kids to stay at home in this era.

I'm one of the hardest workers at any given place and I've quit two jobs day one.

They were temp jobs.. one where I was unloading trucks and another working in warehouse picking boxes off a conveyor belt and placing them on pallets. That job had hella women in there and they made sure to put me far far away from them :mjlol:

First one would fukk up your body with how heavy them boxes were and how fast they wanted you to work. That's some I just finished doing a bid and no one else will give me chance type job.

Second job I was by myself the entire time (no one in sight) bored out of my mind. They were temp jobs and you can always call the temp agency and tell them it ain't for you. Which I did.

How people provide for themselves is on them.. I just hate how people talk about how many "followers" they have on social media, but when shyt get real they wanna fall back on old reliable.. The old head. The old head that supposedly was stupid and let corporations fck them over for decades..
This is very valid.

They will have a rude awakening when they actually lose their safety blanket aka mom and dad.

I think it's totally fine to leave a job that is toxic, but if you are leaving a job because you can't just do whatever you want when on the clock...that is a problem. I hate my Job, but I am very strategic in how I plan to improve my situation, they are just quitting with no plan.

I have a feeling we may not see a whole lot of innovation (which requires a lot of hard work and dedication) from gen z. They might be the new form of hippies.

I disagree, and even if we don't we might see the social reform our generation was too p*ssy to go after. I'm starting to think our generation is more indoctrinated into our culture's bullshyt then I ever realized.

The heights
It's amazing to watch the older millennials in this thread turn into the grouchy old people that we complained about when we were younger. and just like the old heads the kids will ignore ya'll because it's about nothing constructive, just out of touch waxing on about how shyt used to be.
Breh I always said older millennials born between 80 to 86 are different than younger millennials born between 89 to 95 older millennials have more in common and have the same mindset as gen x :yeshrug:
you can tell In this thread which one is a older millennial and which one is a younger millennial

Nah we just see how y’all old heads did “an honest days work” for fukking decades just to still get treated like shyt by every employer you’ve come across. And STILL not be able to retire when you turn 60. Life ain’t supposed to be “work until you fukking die”, and I’m glad my generation actually sees that.

I don’t disagree… but do not be mistaken, most of your generation will do the exact same thing….. now the generation after yours is the real wildcard….

Yeah temp jobs of are definitely shyt jobs in a lot of cases. A lot of jobs in general talk too much shyt without them dollar signs. I'm actually happy to see businesses like that struggle now because that can't find any one to up with that bull shyt.

Yup too much tik tok. Attention span is extremely short and think everything needs to be instant.

They don't understand that jobs are a tool to leverage yourself to move forward and work towards you own goals. But unfortunately they too busy pocket watching and being entitled. The poverty that is coming for the people is going to be vicious.

Yup…. All of this…. The ideology of life is just more than a 9 to 5 is great… but the irony is this concept started with the Gen that everyone loves to hate…. especially in the states….. The lack of perspective and common sense coupled with what you said will handicap them as they age….

This is all a matter of perception of what "work" is in this era and available opportunities. Back in 1850, a lot of people couldn't understand how while they will be working hard and sweating in a steel mill. Some foreign investors could come in and collect the dividends without stepping a foot on the factory floor. Could a medieval laborer consider my 9 to 5 engineering work mostly dealing with moving data as "real work"? As someone said, what old heads considered as work is based from XX century definition. People have multiple avenues now to try to make money and are not slave to employers anymore.

People leave jobs due to differences in wages, work conditions, and hours.

Jobs are simply a way of selling your labor - they're not tools.

You get a better paying job when you can find one :yeshrug:

ALL THESE COMPANIES DO
IS CUT THE WORK FORCE
WHEN THEY HAVE TO PAY
MORE PER HOUR...
SO AT THE END OF THE DAY
THEY STILL WIND UP
PAYING THE SAME IF NOT LESS.

THEYRE SETTING UP
AUTOMATED MACHINES
IN ALL THESE SPOTS.
No, they're not.

That's never been true - always just an Economics 101 fantasy that hasn't come to fruition.

Workers should be paid vastly more.

They do all this because they know their parents not going to hold them accountable and let them back in..

I hated living at home with parents.. I've been living on my own for 25 years, and I know that wouldn't be possible if my parents coddled me and let me live like a zoomer..

This. Everyone is celebrating this but these Gen z folks are broke and living off their parents. At some point they will have to get a career. Very few of them are making tons of money off social media. Lastly, at the mid-to-high income level for white collar jobs, gen z is just as corporatized as previous generations.
