I personally wouldnt do it :hubie:...but im from an era where we got "good jobs" and with that marriage, kids and mortgages...so the train has already left the station...but these young cats are different...im not saying they have good jobs and decent pay, but they dont seem to care as long as they can do the minimum. I have a few friends who do Uber full time and when i ask them about a 9-5 with a boss and office politics...they said nah, they good on that...this was unheard of 20 years ago

Get it how you live it I suppose, but I hope they don't start looking for real employment in a few years. Because that resume gonna be

One thing this pandemic has shown is that there’s no loyalty. Employees are seen as disposable. There’s no such thing as a job for life. “Occupy Wall Street” (despite it’s egregious foundations) aka White Jobs Matter, was a prelude of what we’re seeing today. COVID was simply the catalyst.

Why force yourself to stay at a job being treated like shyt when there are so many other options to make money legally? I really have no beef with quitting and not regretting it.

Of course you should always have a back up plan but with the amount to opportunities out there, you have no excuse to not land on your feet.

That's not the majority of people breh. Maybe the people that surround you but I assure you the majority of the people quiting don't have a plan and aren't leveling up. The majority of people in the US can't even come up with 2K in a month and it's only getting worse.
Thing is not having 2k in the bank isn't some outstanding barometer. I'm familiar with that study. It makes great journalism. But to assume huge quantities of folks are getting on the dole because huge quantities of folks are leaving jobs is flawed in 2021 and beyond.

Too much access. Easy to apply to other jobs for one. You can do the shyt on lunch break or at your desk. It's not 1975. Whole pre employment done through text messaging. Another example of employers who get with the program. It doesn't end with pay increases. Some folks would just rather text. Initially anyway.

Also covid as a catalyst. That's the biggest thing. It lit a fire under folk's behinds. It's easy to focus on a certain group and ignore the other I guess. Especially if you're a business owner yourself. Many of them seem to be very down on humanity and are jaded. Having to stepup sucks but it's needed for survival.

Or they could just sit around focusing on scammers while constantly losing employees to folks who pay more.

Wonder how the Venn diagram looks of folks who quit lots of jobs in their teens and 20s and folks who complain in their 30s how they are underwater on rent and bills and debt with no career path. Once they have kids or get older and their revenue streams dry up from their younger days they are the ones in for a rude awakening

I don’t see why people should subject themselves to an environment they hate if there are viable alternatives

Companies try to attract employees based on what the current market demands (e.g., compensation, hours, location).

Owners of capital will always be at odds with laborers because they’re incentivized to give just enough of the carrot that people stay so if they’re experiencing attrition it means they need to adapt

THIS. You see it too, huh?
:jbhmm:

These are the same people crippled with five-six digit student loan debt, living WAY beyond their means, complaining (oftentimes rightfully) about wages, can’t afford housing, glorifying drug use, pretending and posing on IG/TikTok, primarily concerned about impressing the next person, prioritizing how many “followers” they have, and lacking the concept of properly/successfully building wealth (which is a gradual process that takes time for the vast majority).

Not everyone is going to be an “entrepreneur” or an “influencer”. They are in for a very rude awakening over the next decade. Inflation is out of control, and these high consumer prices, and housing costs are not going anywhere. Socialism nor Communism isn’t happening. If the government provides them any assistance, it won’t be close to enough to provide the lifestyle that they desire.

Exactly, you'd be shocked at how these people move. One guy quit because he was asked to be on time. :russ:

These people are going to be so destitute. And I know this because sometimes we hire older people who have the same attitudes and they are always down bad. We had one guy well into his 50s who couldn't afford a car so he rode a bike to work. I will be damn if I am going into retirement not being able to afford to pay for a car. That's these people's futures and they don't even know it because they are living in the now.

Youth gets very little credit. The youth is the future but folks are in here running them down like they are full blown scammers. You guys don't have a clue. And some of you claim you're pro black. :ohhh::ohhh::ohhh::ohhh: I see it all over social media it's not just here. They accomplish shyt and get little praise. Some clown they don't know does something stupid and they become the face of the generation. I peep it. And so does the youth.

Gen Z knows the system is broken. Working 60-70+ hours a week to make $60k a year is not normal. It's the end result of suppressing wages, outsourcing good jobs and a race to bottom to compete with third world country immigrants and sweatshop labor.

Do y'all realize that in Europe, they don't play that shyt? :hhh:You ever eat at a European restaurant? They have you sitting there three hours eating a little at a time. That's how much more laid back they are... and their economies don't crumble. They also have weeks of vacation time upon hire, paid sick and maternal leave and get paid much more than average than us. There is a reason why they say America is a third world country rocking a Gucci belt.:feedme:

Gen X geriatric asses stay making excuses for the current system because they benefitted about 70% off the same system the Boomers did. They got their bag before the great recession destroyed the economic landscape for millennials and every generation after.

Younger folks replacing Boomers and Gen X get paid less, are refused pensions and good bennies while working longer hours and much more days. Cost of living is going up by the day. After a while, it doesn't make sense to work for $15 an hour when that wage won't even allow you to maintain a bucket ass car let alone allow to a buy a new whip just to get to and from work. :usure:

I dont think this is the majority of society with this problem.

Its just wage slaves running the rat race, from one job to another to another. These type exist of all ages.

Also as the world becomes more globalized in the next few decades people will start to realize that the rest of the world lives very frugal lives.

:hubie: You read about it and I see the negative impacts of it every single day. I see the reflection of the mindset and how it is destructive to people's well being.

The people who actually move on to have successful careers are always the people with the best work ethic and who don't up and quit because they're in the mood.

The people who do what you suggest are always the people who can't keep their phone on and always asking for another chance 6 months later.

But I guess you employee 100s of people a years so you'd know better right?

Honestly it makes me no difference because just like people are leaving fast they are also coming fast too which ultimately make the employee more disposable then they were before. There really is no long term benefits to lacking who ethics but you think ya'll are winning so do you.

Success is intentional and constantly. A whole generation lacks those skills sooo only time will tell.
