Was Arabian Prince even mentioned in the movie? The film made it seem like DOC was the unofficial sixth member. His character was present the majority of the movie.

lol its a mystery I've been trying to find info on why and how he even became part of NWA.

You also need to listen to all those MC Ren solo albums that were sub par at best :snoop:

A lot of things were left out of the movie because of the time allotted to the film...

I mean... I'm just now seeing all this "Ren Love" on the Coli... Has any one of you heard a Ren solo?

He made most of his impact in the group. When NWA broke up offcically Ren couldn't hold his own as a solo act.

"shock of the hour" & "kiss my black ass" are subpar now?

ren couldnt hold his own as a solo artist how? cuz he wasnt shoved down the public's throats?

we gonna act like dre & cube didnt have just as much and/or more subpar moments?

Sub par..

Ight...

Slightly above average or average

This is compared to his work with NWA. Did I say or imply that Dre or Cube didn't have hiccups as well? No I did not bro but I did live through this whole era

dropped popular albums and went platinum.

Bruh... he dropped one popular EP... and never really capitalized on the buzz he had. That Shock of the Hour was aight, but it was definitely overshadowed by a number of albums that were out at the same time. He had the least successful post-NWA out of any of the members minus Yella (if we're not counting porn :heh:)...

And this still doesn't discount Ren as an MC, or discount his importance to the group after Cube left... but it's not like this wasn't acknowledged in the movie... how much time do nikkas believe should've been alloted to his writing?

doesnt matter. it was a popular album.

they couldve at least used about 45 seconds to acknowledge that he had succss after the group. they made it seem like everybody just faded into oblivion after nwa. same with eazy, and he was going triple-platinum.and chittin all over dre.

Blah, yall over hyping his lack of presence.. facts are NWA had a brief span as a unit. Ren had no role in the key parts of the making or ending of NWA.. he was just a contributor..

:obama: pretty much.

Honestly, I think his lack of presence in the movie has been exaggerated... OK, so maybe he didnt get the same screen time Dre, Cube, and Eazy did (and honestly, if you expected that to happen, you set yourself up for the letdown)... but as I've seen it a few times, he had his share of time. People are being overly reactionary- I saw an article where a MF said he had about as much screen time as 'Tupac' did :rudy: Even if they did spend 45 secs-1 minute to point out his post NWA shyt or his writing, nikkas woulda still been like ':stopitslime: thats all they gave him??' We know this...that's how it goes. The three main characters in the movie were the three main members in real life, it's just the facts.

I don't think they had to give him ample time in the movie, but he had less presence then Yella who stole the show with just a few lines. Ren had about 1/4 the lines Yella did, he didn't even speak until 45-50mins in (I was timing it). I think that all they had to do was let him do some verses on stage instead of ALL Cube verses. He was standing right there, hypeman style. They could have thrown shots of he and Cube going back and forth writing or passing along their books during the montage instead of only Cube. These are small things that could have acknowledged his presence in the movie.

As for success, let's not forget that Dre has The Chronic...and I guess you can add Doggystyle. He dropped Aftermath Presents (flop) in '96 but he had y'all ninjas waiting damn near a decade for Chronic 2000...I mean 2001 (ok 6-7years), since Suge stole the title. Then he faded to black and still have y'all waiting for Detox. It's not like he's a workaholic. He's basically been surviving off Em.

The last Cube project I liked was Westside Cinnect. All of their musical careers have stalled.
