There was an Air Force General who gave a 1 hour presentation justifying it. America is very competitive and wants to remain on top. If China and Russia are investing heavily in space then America will start taking it seriously.

I mean why do we even have spaceforce when we have no FTL/ Warp Drive spaceships... we not the federation...:dahell: We havent met alien life or anything yet...irrefutable alien contact with evidence I mean...:comeon:

If we're really talking about the colonizing the Moon and Mars, then we do need a Space Force (I'm not a fan of that name). Then again, NASA's budget should be quadrupled anyway. But that's another thread.

So capitalism has failed for some time then.
Depends on how you define fail:yeshrug:
Almost every country is capitalist to some degree, with none being laissez faire.
I'm not mad at anyone believing centrally planned capitalism has failed.

Its "failure" towers above the alternatives though.

The military is a valid and necessary government function.
The military should be used for defensive purposes (non-aggression principle).
People should not be conscripted or drafted.
Service should be voluntary, not compelled.

You(and many others in this thread) are confusing a rejection of how we use our military with a rejection of the military itself.
Libertarians(save anarchist) have no issue with, and support the military.

The military budget is over-bloated. How can you be for smaller government, yet believe defense cuts aren't necessary? :heh:

China says otherwise.

If we do away with the Space Force, what do we do when the aliens from Independence Day show up?:ohhh: Don’t we need Will Smith n em.
I’m gonna be with the people on top of the building with welcome signs. I’ll get blasted first, but hey, I’ve always been interested in welcoming our extraterrestrial overlords :yeshrug:
