Wasn't the merger like 3 months ago? All these movies were already basically finished by the time Disney gained control. The only control they had was over marketing, and all accounts are that they didn't market those flicks at all.Uh....that's not what happened though.
Disney let several Fox movies ride and they all flopped. People act like they bought Fox and just cancelled everything they had in the works.
Fred.
Some movies flop, as always happens. You take losses on 5 flicks and then make way more than that back when a Matrix franchise you took a shot on pops up out of nowhere. Disney is putting out vibes that they don't want to take those chances.
Would you rather Fox release 20 movies a year, of which 7 are any good? Or release 6 movies a year, of which 2 are good, 1 flops, and the other 3 are cookie-cutter spam with guaranteed sales?
Perhaps in at least a superficial effort to demonstrate an actual soul? This is a move that makes sense. Sports attracts everyone, why would you toss half your fan base (probably more for espn since they’re so football centric) into the bushes?
