Streaming is taking over, Disney can't be shocked or surprised by that. The internet killed the music industry now it's doing it to Hollywood. They gotta adapt like music did.
The ride doesn’t look all the excitingGuess no one went to visit the new Star Wars theme park this year.
That's so sad but I think streaming got people used to watching non-special effects stuff on TV. I know I'm guilty off of it, especially when I watch a dope dram flick that has great outdoor shots.
This is why I was low key cheering for Comcast to get Fox, but here we are. One less studio to release content and the franchises that Disney said that they were going to keep running are starting to look.
Avatar?
Alien?
Planet of the Apes back in development hell.
PG-13 Deadpool?
How many big tier studios are still out there? Disney, Warner Brothers, Universal, Paramount, Sony.......Is United Artists even still around?
Breh, read this Fox Feels the Pressure From Disney as Film Flops Mount
That says it all. It's about what's safe. The entire premise of that whole article is they want to go with what's safe and what is a sure fire hit to make money. It's not about "quality" its about making sure every release can be a four quadrant movie and catch on. They don't give a damn about the reviews for the lion king, they care about the receipts. Had X-Men made stupid money but had lousy reviews, they wouldn't have given a shyt. At all. Quality doesn't equal money and vice versa
did that PG13 Deadpool re-release even do good?
You got Warner and Universal out here doing horror movies for five bucks and making millions off them, you can't tell me Disney couldn't do the same with FOX properties.
It's simple.. they don't want to. Disney defenders are children with beards![]()
Nope. But to Disney’s credit, they’re trying to figure out how to have him walk between worlds. His solo movie will probably be R rated but they’re trying to establish how you put him in the pg13 world the rest of the heroes inhabit without it feeling like tonal whiplash

Surprised that Devon Franklin movie made a huge profit. I didn’t see any promotion at all for it.
It looks like maybe Disney will make Deadpool a show like Daredevil.
RIght now the only films that are working in the domestic box office are horror and tentpoles. One notable exception is action adjacent stuff (romance, comedy, sci-fi). Audiences are fickle though. Can't stop trying to be creative because one generation is a certain way.
