It's an aura thing. After the success of 8701, and then Confessions, Usher was the biggest male solo artist. Girls in school were carving lyrics from My Boo into their desks; those songs were on the radio constantly. Beyonce has been so much about marketing, not organically getting people to love her music and be obsessed by it. Frankly, I'd say Justin Timberlake's first few solo albums also had a bigger splash than Beyonce's solo work. I can sing Justified front to back. I can't name more than 3 songs on any Beyonce album.
So it’s based on YOUR perspective. Everything just used to prop up the Usher album could easily apply to a Beyoncé album.

I think this what you guys fail to realize. You are making the assessment based on your opinion and vehemently deny that that an artist as big as Beyoncé could possibly in someone else’s perspective be at that level. Like you can see you don’t personally have believe it but to dismiss the notion relative to this particular artist is crazy talk.

Or you could answer the question of what you are basing this on since you said it wasn’t based on your opinion......

The biggest hindrance causing this discussion was being a member of that group. But everything happens for a reason. One can't perfectly orchestrate all our moves. And it was mostly definitely a blessing as a precursor to being on her own.

Assuming your a male, I would expect you to know more songs from a male artist than a woman who makes music for other women and gay men. If you banging more than 2 or 3 beyonce songs your clearly gay

My thing is why as usual do they focus on the black artists?

Why are the Dionne Warwick’s never bold enough to say this about the Adele or Ariana Grande’s?

I laughed my ass off when Quincy Jones shytted on Taylor Swift. It was refreshing cause every other legendary old school black artist seems afraid to do so

They rather talk about black rappers or the Beyonces

He said universally classic. I don’t think you can say that confessions is universally classic. That’s damn near Thriller status.

Thriller is a different type of beast considering it supersedes genres, but Confessions is classic amongst it's genre without a doubt.

That cannot be taken away.

Confessions is a benchmark for its genre.

Universally praised as a game changer for it's time.

How many albums in general over the last quarter century went diamond especially r&b albums.
