My thing is why as usual do they focus on the black artists? Why are the Dionne Warwick’s never bold enough to say this about the Adele or Ariana Grande’s?I laughed my ass off when Quincy Jones shytted on Taylor Swift. It was refreshing cause every other legendary old school black artist seems afraid to do soThey rather talk about black rappers or the Beyonces

Nah people in the media always love to put entertainers in a tough spot in interviews. Like they always have to ask mj what he thinks about lebron bla bla bla, who the fukk cares tho...:mjpls:...They ain't from the same era or cut from the same cloth.

To be fair, Dionne Warwick has a history of airing out artists including many UK artists in particular during the “British Invasion” era, an era where only a few artists including herself thrived.

Keep in mind, that was during a time her sales would be affected the most and she still spoke her mind. She definitely stood tall during her prime.

So the better question is why are no current artists saying anything about artists such as Billy Eilish?

Thriller is a different type of beast considering it supersedes genres, but Confessions is classic amongst it's genre without a doubt.

That cannot be taken away.

Confessions is a benchmark for its genre.

Universally praised as a game changer for it's time.

How many albums in general over the last quarter century went diamond especially r&b albums.
Fair points no doubt but even you admit it’s more genre specific. So based on that how can ANYONE dismiss the notion that a Beyoncé album could be considered the same to others?

If we want to get into sales, she’s 9 million on her first album in a climate that saw sales physical sales dwindling......

I have reiterated my thoughts numerous times. Her solo shyt is just too weak for a superstar of her caliber..
Butbyou have said that wasn’t based on your opinion yet you won’t answer what it’s based on if not your opinion.....

Beyoncé has more Grammys, more # 1 hits, more sold out shows, higher grossing tours, and more record sales than Dione whorebytch. Their career accolades aren’t even close. Beyoncé first went platinum over 21 years ago and is still a top name in music.

Alicia Keys had more Grammys on her 1st album than Marvin Gaye did in his ENTIRE 25-30 yr career. What's that mean? Nothing to be honest.

Beyonce is an icon, but it's not because of her music being so awesome....because it's not. She's wasted much of her vocal talent chasing mindless chanty pop hits. Where are her solo songs like "Me Myself & I"? IMO, she hasn't even topped that song in terms of solo ballads. It's like she's ashamed to be seen as an R&B singer.

Dionne is absolutely right. No real classic albums but she does have classic records. She’s more of a performer than anything else.

Truth. Beyoncé's catalogue doesn't really hold up like that.
She only has 2 songs that could be rightfully be called "standards",
and that's not good for an R&B artist with her tenure.
