Who in the hell needs to "convince" Dionne Warwick of anything?

More people probably know her for that Psychic Friends Network bullshyt than her music.

You can personally not like her music and it could not be for you, but you can’t be in denial about her status.

These posters refuse to be objective and they pretty much have a tunnel view based on their own opinion. For instance I think lil Wayne is severely overrated and borderline trash. However I will not be in denial about his legendary run, accolades, and I won’t be obtuse to knowing that a whole lot of people who view him as legendary and their goat. Yes Wayne is a legend in rap regardless of my personal feelings. That’s being objective.

I came up hearing my mother play certain Dionne songs but she would skip around on the records to play her favorite ones. Plus some of her songs got remade by Aretha and Isaac Hayes and they did them better. Not taking anything away from Dionne at all but when classic singers get brought up she’s barely mentioned.

We didn't... a lot of her songs were written by people like Burt Bacharach; they were not getting play in my parents or grandparents households like that.

Big songs that are hot at the time but outside of Single Ladies, what’s Beyoncé’s definitive timeless hit? She really has none. Certainly true for her albums.

There were icons in the 60s and 70s. Dionne just wasn’t one of them. And it’s not like Beyoncé didn’t have a lot of competition at one point. She’s just outlasted all of them
