The smarter decision for M$ would have been to take a non-existing L (they got unlimited money so it wouldn't be a loss) and undercut the PS5 with their Series X console which is more powerful than PS5 anyway and also have an even more powerful console than the Series X/PS5 priced at 549 or some shyt. Probably wouldn’t have changed anything but at least developers wouldn’t suffer.

Why are bots in denial about Series S. If MS drops it a requirement for it you will get better games. You aren’t required to defend every thing a company does. Well unless of course you’re being paid to be here.

Not really. Using a glitch to access a buggy version of something doesn't prove much. However, the mode being cancelled, even with all the work that went into it, does lend more credibility to the general understanding that it's not as easy as you think. Besides, not all games are developed in the same way. And with Baldurs Gate 3 being a next-gen only title, I can only assume its rendering workload requires more than a game that had to work on last generation hardware too.

The Series S is a good console for what it is, but it has its drawbacks, and we're seeing one here.
Split screen would be double rendering everything from two different perspectives. Wonder if it's a memory issue as it has less of it.

Either way Microsoft doesn't have the market share to demand much of developers. They run into a problem and if it becomes too costly and they can't get a requirement compromise then developers will likely just not release on that platform. Are they really trying to put that effort in for maybe half of the Xbox install base mainly just so they can release on Series X?

When you're the market leader you can demand feature parity. When you aren't you might just find yourself abandoned if you make demands.

Split-screen co-op is what's causing the problems. It's the same problems that caused 343i to completely drop it from Halo Infinite.

343 is just a shyt studio, people have glitched themselves into split screen on last gen hardware in halo infinite. 343 is just trash at developing games.

Aside from the storage limitations and the cost of external memory, the series s is good. Struggling games seem to be badly optimized, that's not microsoft’s fault.
