The ps4 and xbox one were dog shyt on release and the gaming industry seemed to manage fine.
The cpus were shyt and bottlenecked framerate but we got some amazing looking games outta those gpus (God of War, TLOU2, RDR2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4, Doom Eternal, Gears 5, RE2 Remake, DMC5, Forza Horizon 3, etc.)

This is what broke the series s

fukk outa here.

Sony stans out here wildin again:mjlol:
Split-screen co-op is what's causing the problems. It's the same problems that caused 343i to completely drop it from Halo Infinite.

Here is Baldur's Gate 3 running on the Steam Deck:

Here is a specs comparison between the Steam Deck and XSS:
Steam DeckXbox Series S
Graphics Technology1.0-1.6TF AMD RDNA 2 (8 CUs at 1.0-1.6GHz)4TF AMD RDNA 2 (20 CUs at 1.55GHz)
Central ProcessorAMD Zen 2 (4 cores at 2.4-3.5GHz)AMD Zen 2 (8 cores at 3.4GHz SMT or 3.6GHz no SMT)
Memory/Bandwidth16GB LPDDR5 at 88 GB/s8GB GDDR6 at 224GB/s, 2GB GDDR6 at 56GB/s
Internal Storage512GB NVMe SSD256GB/512GB NVMe SSD

Besides RAM, the Series S is more than twice as powerful. Remember, when running split screen each image is only running at half the resolution.

The Series S was just a bad idea. Should have just copied Sony and pulled the drive but kept the specs the same. Now we’re stuck with this crap for a whole generation.

It means boulders fukkin gate can work on it :stopitslime:
Not really. Using a glitch to access a buggy version of something doesn't prove much. However, the mode being cancelled, even with all the work that went into it, does lend more credibility to the general understanding that it's not as easy as you think. Besides, not all games are developed in the same way. And with Baldurs Gate 3 being a next-gen only title, I can only assume its rendering workload requires more than a game that had to work on last generation hardware too.

The Series S is a good console for what it is, but it has its drawbacks, and we're seeing one here.
