What are you talking about bruh :dead:

fukkin Mcclane in 3 drove through central park not hitting one person then jumped on a moving subway then survived the bomb detonation, then rode a dump truck like a surfboard. :dead: got shot 50 feet in the air out the aquaduct and lived.. Dude fell off a bridge landed on a ship and survived. Tripped the breaks on a speeding car in traffic flipping a 180 while shooting the bad guys at the same time :dead:
Killed 5 dudes in an elevator all by himself. :dead:

Come on Marty.

Mcclane fukkin shot down a helicopter with a little ass revolver :dead:

It’s less about shyt like that for me and more about him sort of lucking his way into shyt in part 3. He’s rarely ahead of the villain, he needs help, he’s drunk half the time, and gets lucky. His luck is even a point of dialogue in the flick.

In part 2 he’s basically Sherlock Holmes with a badge. He knows everything that’s going to happen before it happens and always always always gets the drop on everyone and is rarely caught off guard. If at all. In 3, he feels like more of a detective who’s in over his head against a very very smart but flawed dude.

And he didn’t shoot the helicopter with the revolver; he shot the pilot, which caused the helicopter to crash into wires:ufdup:

Imo, Die Hard 1 is the only one where he is truly a regular cop in the wrong place at the wrong time.

MartyMcFly's points about Die Hard 2 are true, and so are Ebonic Plague's points about Die Hard 3.

I guess you have to ask youself, for a true Die Hard sequel to have even been written, the question would need to be, how does a regular cop get put in the wrong place at the wrong time again? In Die Hard 1, the attack was probably his first of this kinda experience and we all saw how worried and fragile he was, despite his abilities. By Die Hard 2, if theres one difference between McClane in this one and the first one, its that hes already gone through that immense experience. That however shouldn't make him 'Sherlock Holmes' as has just been said. I think the writers just went wild and thought they could make McClane more like Schwarzenegger in 'physical effectiveness', and Colombo in 'detective work' based on what he gained from the first film.

With Die Hard 3, he survives alotta shyt he shouldn't have survived, even someone else I watched it with pointed out how random it was that Samuel L Jackson just happened to be driving past as he gets thrown out of the water tunnel lol. I think the problem is that it isn't written as well as it could've been, despite being a great script. Hes hungover and that is brought up throughout the film, plus has been depressed in the years leading up to the film. This is really the worst time for him to be 'surviving everything'. But I get Marty's point about 3. He may physically be 'Schwarzenegger' in 3, but his mind isn't as 'Sherlock Holmes' as in 2. In 3, he really should've died once they got out of the elevator, but got lucky cos he saw Otto's badge that just happened to belong to his colleague, then had the advantage of surprise as a result. Still should've taken atleast one bullet though considering they all already had the intention of killing him. Overall, luck is on his side throughout the film almost to make up for his mental state. He also had a non-insane Zeus, a whole police department, plus that truck driver to help him out.

Did Hard 2 is just a dumb script. They crash a plane with 200 passengers, that's one of the most horrific things that can happen period. And they bring in John Amos but he's really workin with the enemy and they have a fake shoot out with blanks. :francis:

but I still love the end when they on the wing of the plane. That shyt still looks good. :whoo:

But part 3 is almost as ludicrous actually more but it's a better directed film and just overall more adventurous and well made. I just thought the ending was tacked on, which it was.

Yeah that scene is dope, gets intense real quick; one second he asking about lotto numbers, the next second his face is covered in terrorist blood

The fact that McClane does dangerous things so quickly is part of what made the movie unintentionally funny to me.

When hes walking up alongside the truck in the tunnel talking about Santa Claus, then riddles both men with bullets through the truck door before he even finishes talking. :mjlol:

When hes driving along the FDR and asks Zues if his seat has airbags, then drives off the elevated highway before Zues can even finish responding. :russ:

die hard movies are 1-3 idgaf about the other thousands of them and the 3rd is the best for me, that 90s summer in ny feel + the intro:banderas:

That opening was well crafted who ever wrote/directed/edited that part. The song invokes memories and nostalgia; Romanticism. Then, a fukking bomb goes off; jarring

Bruce is done. Dude is totally uninterested in acting. You see Glass? Guy looked like he was just there so he didn't get fined. It's a damn shame. Prequel is the only way to go.

Damn I've been saying the same thing. I call it old actors disease, they just want the check and almost act annoyed they have to still work to get it. Go back and watch his 90s stuff it's almost shocking how much effort he's putting in compared to today. I think the last thing he was in I liked where he carried the movie was Surrogates (underated IMO).
