A Good Day to Die Hard was the only Die Hard movie to be written as a "Die Hard" movie. That's why it's trash. All the other Die Hards were based on novels or articles, which happened to be turned into Die Hard movies. It couldn't learn from Under Siege, Cliffhanger or Speed, which were movies written to be Die Hard movies with different characters, which were actually good Die Hard movies and good movies. In conclusion, Die Hard.
I don’t even think that’s why. I think it doesn’t work because like damn near every movie after part 1, excluding part 3, it treats john like a superhero. He’s not. The appeal of john is he’s a regular guy who has the worst luck. He’s a straight up superhero in 2, 4 and 5. But more so 5 than any others. And that makes everything less. The action is less. The drama is less. The tension is less. Because mcclane is impervious to harm and invincible

There's no defense for that shyt. It's preposterous. Still tho, he's talking shyt like classic John McClane. I ain't like it as a Die Hard movie when I first saw it but I've grown to appreciate it over the years. It has the elements of Die Hard that AGDTDH don't have.It was cool to see Lucy all grown up after Die Hard. There's even an Agent Johnson callback to Die Hard. It's no "'Just like fukking Saigon, ey, slick!' 'I was in junior high, dikkhead,'" but I did a double take with McClane when dude said his name was Johnson. I'm not tryna change ur mind tho. If I ever got to make an action movie, I always wanted McTiernan to do it. I feel like he got one more great movie in him. He did his lil bid and is prolly cheap to get and is looking for redemption.
