Didn't realize how nerfed the rest of the Z Fighters are by the Buu saga.
Piccolo becomes a glorified jobber to the stars

Trunks debut is much more epic in Japanese/Spanish versions
that music is fukkin raw
the part where Frieza looks at Trunks and starts having PTSD flashbacks of Goku gives me chills

But raw power isn't necessarily representative of the overall abilities of a character though.Power scaling is basically measuring a characters power by comparing them to other characters power levels at certain times during a series. And he's right, the power scaling is absolutely ridiculous when you look back at it
Goku and Piccolo were the strongest characters at the start of DBZ and could barely beat Raditz together. Raditz was then said to have the same strength as a mere Saibamen. As you remember Krillin took out four Saibamen at once. For reference, in a year's time Krillin went from being weaker than Goku and Piccolo and getting slapped around by Raditz's tail to being able obliterate Raditz with one attack
Meanwhile Goku went from not even being able to take on Raditz to making sport of Nappa and even besting Vegeta (with the help of kaioken) in just one year. Don't even get me started on how absurd the power scaling was on Namek
Breh for real, rewatching the Sayian saga made me realize how fukking scary Vegeta was at the time. I watched it with my lil breh and he was like everytime Vegeta came back.Krillin got gored, Gohan spent a while getting beat on, Vegeta spent an entire episode getting strangled and punched while spitting up blood. I mean even a kid got blown up. It ended with the bad guy getting sliced into bits and begging for his life. If it was less violent, the difference was marginal at best
Looking back to keep in character with this thread, I think that might’ve been the beat fight. It was physical with a ton of striking on both ends, both sides hurt each other bad with big moves, all fighters fought to exhaustion to the point they can’t even complete attacks, the bad guy held the edge but not to the point that some of the good guys fighting were borderline useless, it didn’t run some 25 episodes (it ran 5-6), and seeing the bad guy keep coming back to fight some more after the beam struggle, his tail being cut off, surviving the spirit bomb, and even still surviving being crushed at the end was some type of shyt to see. Him telling them they’re idiots for letting him go and that he’s gonna come back and choke the life from them when his ship is leaving was some truly shyt.
Decision making went off the rails overall an entire saga before that. I even recall someone giving cell a senzu bean :mjplo:I'm currently rewatching Buu Saga and I'm realizing how much Super saves Vegeta as a character because I'm trying to figure out why anyone fukks with this guy and his consistent bad decision making at the cost of wanting to fight someone that doesn't even want to be bothered like that. He's a damn good villain though
WOATku was really out here trying to give the villain a fair fight with his son. Probably should've asked the real father how to handle decision making :PicolloPls:Decision making went off the rails overall an entire saga before that. I even recall someone giving cell a senzu bean :mjplo:
