Did rewatching Dragonball Z change opinions you had about certain characters?

Breh goku fighting jiren suppressed around what the 40 min mark got his ass whooped then throughout of it till toward the end and managed to be stronger than him in that short span is
This was by far the biggest gap In dragon ball history
And he surpassed it with no senzu bean no stamina in what 40 mins

Goku never surpassed jiren tho, it took him and frieza fighting him with sneak attacks from 17 to actually faze him. The ultra instinct shyt isnt something he can activate at will and even then it seemed like jiren wasn't going all out.

If killing was allowed, jiren would have killed goku with UI.

Goku didn't know shyt about living a regular life as a kid so him just chilling inside a house with his grandfather dead and nobody to take care of him seemed normal to him.

And in reality that's not too far for from the life he would've lived if he were raised with the saiyans.

On the other hand vegeta was raised as a planet destroying saiyan and still had unconditional love for his wife, made time to take his family out on trips, and would rather be there for the birth of his daughter than to go test his strength against powerful foes.

Goku didnt give a fukk about any of that shyt.

One thing I did notice when I rewatched it (kai) is the boosts in power.

People were shytting on super because of this while at the same time acting like DBZ didnt do the same thing lol

Vegeta was clearly stronger than Goku during and after their fight. Vegeta gets a zenkai boost after their battle and his battles on Namek but somehow Goku ends up significantly stronger than him after training for a couple of days at a 100g on his way to Namek

Vegeta got a ridiculous Zenkai boost after eating that senzu bean Goku gave him

Goku got more Zenkai boosts on top of actually training during that time on the ship than Vegeta did on namek against Zarbon and even Recoome afterward. Everytime Goku went back to 100 gravity he was damn near killing himself.

Just watching the show without all the bullshyt power ups and cliff hangers made me realize how bad DBZ actually was...

I noticed that Goku vs Vegeta 1 was the most violent fight in DBZ
with more hand to hand combat than Ki beams

-Goku punches Vegeta so hard he coughs up blood

-Vegeta crushes Gokus leg when he turns to an ape, then begins torturing him by crushing his whole body in front of his son

-Vegeta headbutts 5 year old Gohan so hard he leaves a large bloody forehead on him

-Vegeta tortures Goku again in front of his son by kicking his incapacitated body repeatedly and laughing about it.

Yajirobe got the shyt beat outta him

Krillin had a broken arm and coughing out blood

everyone was a bloody mess

the network probably told Toriyama tone that shyt down

Pretty much and it only gets worse as Goku and Vegeta are above God in terms of strength now

So to see Goku struggle vs. lowly henchmen jobbers is insane

Edit: Nappa vs. the Z warriors and VIdel vs. that one majin guy >>>> in terms of violence iMO both were to watch

can i just skip the first 100 episodes? lol

the first story arc/saga is the most streamlined of them all and spans about 30-35 episodes... after that they're all insanely long at like 80-100 episodes each.

so you should definitely start at the beginning to see if you like the show first. because once the namek saga starts it's a big commitment.

Wonder if it would have made much of a difference if he decided to go in the time chamber. I mean he wasn't fukking with second form Cell before but they had 9 days left so it's not like he would have been taking time from anyone else if he trained in there.
