Did Rae, GFK, GZA, OdB all dropping better albums than Meth hurt his legacy?

I also think the Redman team up eventually eneded up hurting him. First off, he was always seen as getting bested by Red, secondly--they became campy and cuddly as opposed to the hardcore image they both previously excelled with. That pairing served Red's career more than Meth's.

Plus, Blackout! Was kinda bland.

:wtf:Blackout was dope, but I agree with everything else. His 'comedy' was forced, while Red was known for being a clown every now and then(Soopaman Lova, etc.).

Blackout was aiight. Sort of a victim of era album. At least Rockwilder did synth funk way better than Swizz for that time.

Even the Rza joints were a little corny besides run for cover.

I don't think so, but whatever

but Gravediggaz? didn't RZA only produce like 2.5 songs on that album?

Graveyard Chamber and Diary Of a Mad Man.

Both sound like some stuff from Tical

:wow:

Niccas droppin' knowledge. I always thought RZA had more input in that record.

Regarding Meth, anyone know any stories or anything on how dude pretty much got his own song on 36 chambers? I always wondered if them other niccas were like  or if they were (secretly?)

Method Man was never a great solo rapper imo. He gets away with his dope flow, delivery, and charisma in group setting, but he gets exposed when he's by himself.

Would be dope to know. I think that was Wu's "in" as far as major airplay though. That track was everywhere.
