Did Rae, GFK, GZA, OdB all dropping better albums than Meth hurt his legacy?

It's because he doesn't rap about anything, he just has a nice flow. Meth is a hardcore version of Greg Nice. His legacy is hurt because he doesn't create a mood in the listener. Seriously, when was the last time you really wanted to listen to some Meth. I mean really sought him out. We all agree on the skills, this is the only thing I can pinpoint.

Fred durst is awful.

No Meth was that bad dawg, go back and listen, I was discussing this with by friend he mentioned this song and I was like :childplease: but going back, I would say Durst outshone him by a bit, Meth was fukking asleep.

Redman does the same thing and had a nice 5 album run. Its not fair to compare the 2, because Redman came out as solo artist, but I still don't know what to expect from a Method Man record. Its been 20 years and he never really established himself, and I thought he was gonna make a huge impact. He never lived up to his potential.

i just listened again. Meth was sleepwalking but he at least had wit, breath control and an ease about him. Durst struggled, as always, to even remain rhythmic.

we don't need to bolster a scrub like Durst to illustrate that Meth was coasting.

I don't bolster nobody and fukk that herb, Durst for real, but I gotta call em like I see em. No disrespect to Meth because from like 93-96, Meth was one of the best out and even this footnote won't drag down whatever legacy he has, that was just a low low, even the best rappers have them *cough* Ghostface and Charlie Baltimore *cough*

meth was supposed to be the shining star of the wu. he had everything(dope flows, dope voice, could get technical and deep, could be simple and listenable, street dudes messed with him, ladies liked him, could be funny or serious, had crazy charisma) but he never dropped a clutch album to me.

this... I'm a fan of his, but his solo stuff was never on the level it shouldve been. i wasnt a big fan of tical either. All the albums in the thread title shyt on tical imo, even Uncontrolled Substance by deck is better :manny:

To Meth's credit, I remember Rza saying they rushed out the Tical album because the original album they did got lost in his studio flood. :duck::ld:

But considering his output on that album and afterwards, I dont think it wouldve mattered. lol
