main eventing raw isn't the same as it was back during the attitude era especially with 3 hours. You are always going to get struck more times than not with a match that shouldn't be the quote-on-quote main event or runs way to long. They ran the main first in my mind. This was just a matchto get to the ending of Damage Control standing tall to end the show
Basically, they now run Raw similar to how they used to run Saturday Night's Main Event... they'd have the matches with Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Andre, etc. in the beginning or middle, but the last match was usually not a big match because by then, it was late.
The last hour of Raw is usually when the ratings drop, so they get the main shyt done in the first two. They might close out with something sorta relevant, but not the main event type shyt.
