There is literally no animated content that looks/is better live action or drenched in CGI. Filmmakers gotta cut this shyt out.

You have to think this is the beginning of a franchise if it succeeds. I remember they were talking bout 6 power ranger movies before the first one even came out and then it bombed

As long as this makes bank we should be seeing a pokemon flick every 2 years or so.

Ya know, after thinking on it, Detective Pikachu is a pretty solid choice to make a movie about if the goal is start a franchise. Yes it's a weird idea, but they can do a ton of world building with this without having to also set up the League, badges, Team Rocket, etc from the games. All of that might have been too much for the first time out.

Crazy thing is Ryan Reynolds still has a much softer voice than what they went with in the game.



I really don't know who they could have gotten for the voice, especially since the joke is that Pikachu is supposed to sound like a grown man. But then, it's not like I ever really sat down and considered casting for a damned Pokemon movie.

thats why i dont like it that much. It would've been funnier with a deeper voice. Cant go wrong with deadpool tho i guess as far as familiar voices go.

Ryan Reynolds isn't really needed to sell this movie. It's Pokemon, it sells itself.
