The standard is a criminal trial is beyond a reasonable doubt. You can believe he probably did it but if you're not sure he did it beyond a reasonable doubt then you have to acquit. The prosecutor might have not wanted this case to go trial because he thought he would not be able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Alot of prosecutors will not try a case unless they feel certain they can get a conviction. So even if they think Watson is guilty, they might steer the grand jury to not indict because they don't want to lose the case at trial because they couldn't meet the high burden of proof.

There’s a difference between sexual misconduct and rape. Ben got accused of rape twice in 3 years only to have both cases dropped (one ended in a civil suit) which resulted in a suspension of 6 games.


Most of these are allegations and he has not been charged. You’ve got people looking to get paid at this point.

That's a fair point about Ben's allegations being rape allegations compared to what Watson has been accused of.

However, these are different times right now, and the NFL does not want to appear soft on these issues. They gave Brady a four game suspension because the NFL refused to believe in factual science. There is no way Watson is getting six games max.

You could be right, but I'd be shocked if it was that. I think they would say "indefinite suspension" or on the "exempt list" if they don't flat out suspend him for an entire year.

I think we have gotten past the point of arguing whether or not Watson will be suspended. I, myself, provided the Ben case as an example of a player getting suspended due to sex related allegations without charge.

Obviously, Watson will be suspended. We are debating the severity of the suspension.

Why are so so quick to condemn? Can't this just be a money grab? All these women coming out now that it is civil but no longer criminal. Wouldn't it make sense for any women to just jump on board this civil suit now since the chance of settlement is so great.

It's an easy come up if you had any sort of dealings with him in the past. Any woman can embellish his behavior during a massage especially if its proven that they met.
